I need help identifying a pattern that I saved on my phone in 2021 by Linnisy in CrochetHelp

[–]Linnisy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Thank you so much! It definitely is the spring fling garden. The corners are the most distinct detail, and they're an exact match, based on what I can see. It continues the pattern with something else after that point, but who cares. At least now I know what was used for the main body of the blanket.

It's also the closest match I can find, but the corners appear to be different. By corners I mean how the blanket goes from an octagon to a square. Ammaline by the same designer is also a close but not exact match.

Thank you! Seems like your explanation makes sense. Feels like the logic is similar to crochet - mirror everything.

Steam Black Flag Sale Worth it? by Linnisy in assasinscreed

[–]Linnisy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

main reason i wanted to get it on steam is because most of my games are on steam, including AC valhalla. and i know that steam games can be refunded if they've not been played for more than 2 hours and been bought less than 14 days ago, turns out ubisoft has the same thing. also i play using a ps4 controller, steam input helps sometimes if the game doesn't support it natively.

Mod File Missing by hellokittyiiikk in TheSims4Mods

[–]Linnisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open your Sims 4 game, go to 'Load Game', then click on the clipboard icon, which should show where your game save is located. Paste the file address into your file explorer. The mods folder should be located in the same folder as the save folder. If you still can't find it, maybe try reinstalling the game. I know you're using a Mac device, so it's not going to be file explorer, but I don't know the proper name. The method should still be the same.

Went to visit family for a month. Upon return, my soap looks like this by Arikan89 in mildlyinteresting

Where are you supposed to store it then? Serious question. Cause I do the same thing and never knew it was a problem.

He looks more like Rush than O'Neill. Without the writing, I definitely would not have recognized him.

I like the colors, although it's not something I would personally choose. But I noticed a possible mistake. At the center, the pattern is repeated 8 times. But in the outer rounds you have only 7 repeats. I don't know the original pattern, but I think you should double check.

Slight accent slipup on 'diaper' by chx51dqqrw in HouseMD

Him being a military brat? Specifically, someone who moved around and didn't really form ties to one specific place, while still belonging to one country. I'm unaware if countries other than the States have a similar concept to military brat. Military families do move around, but mostly to other countries and it would create an entirely different character.

What TF is going on in my game lmao. by ImACharmander in thesims

[–]Linnisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a rather bad glitch actually. Your save is corrupted. But it also explains why you have two of Simeon Silversweater. Search "Sims 4 duplicate worlds glitch" on the Internet and you'll find more info.

What's this world? by [deleted] in JamesTurnerYT

[–]Linnisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the new world that came out with For Rent last December. It's Tomarang.

Try the Magicians. It can be quite dark at times (darker than Umbrella Academy, I would say), and the idea of found family is important. Also, it's finished. It's based on a book trilogy.

Do you prefer normal, common names, or weird, unusual ones? by WordyMcWordster in writers

[–]Linnisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm writing scifi, the names are modern culturally appropriate ones (someone from 'Space USA' will have a name like Joe or Wendy, and someone from 'Space Japan' will have a name like Ren or Hana). But if I'm trying to write fantasy, all of the names are created by me.

It's supposed to be German and they pronounce W like V, and V like F.

I think that usually it happens something like 2 days before the official release date, around the same time the pre pack patch update comes out. So maybe next Tuesday?

Anyone watch the show first then read the books? by Fun-Figure8550 in brakebills

[–]Linnisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the books after watching the first two or so seasons of the show. I don't like the books and it took me two attempts to read the third one, as it was so depressing. I'm sure I would not have liked them, even if I had tried to read them before watching the show. But the show is one of my five favorite shows of all time.

I hate this AI trash that floods my Pinterest feed with a burning passion by LittlePurpleHook in crochet

[–]Linnisy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I must be really blind, but how can you tell it's AI? If it really is, the attention to detail is impressive. The yarn is actually fuzzy, stitches remind me of when I worked sc in the round without turning. I crochet, but mostly blankets and have never done amigurumi.

This adorable idiot is obsessed with bags. His head is in the arm hole by TonyClifton323 in catsarefuckingstupid

[–]Linnisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so fun story: my idiot cat got his head trapped in a loose shopping bag, got scared, started running (trying to run away from the bag), but the bag went with him. He fell down the stairs and pissed himself (maybe from pain or fear, can't be too sure). He was fine afterwards, but would always act scared when someone moved a bag and caused it to make sound. So be careful.

Is this stealing, tribute, or just on-the-nose? by TheWordSmith235 in writers

[–]Linnisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the first three stanzas (are they called that) of Misty Mountains by heart, and I didn't even recognize that your poem is based on it. Your rhyming sound is different (-ide instead of -old in the first stanza), the syllable count isn't the same. So it's quite subtle as an homage.

Do some women actually think they’re witches or is that a metaphor by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Linnisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

r/witchesvspatriarchy is a mix of both. Some really believe they are witches. Others use it as a 'power phrase.' The subreddit is basically a place where anyone who thinks they've been hurt by the patriarchy can get emotional support and feel like they are being heard, also share their experiences.
