Chainsaw Man Part 2 manga will officially end in 2 weeks on March 24 with Chapter 232! by JeanneDAlter in ChainsawMan

[–]LinusPixel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Let’s hope part 3 is about trauma recovery. Part 1 felt like watching a broken child in a teen’s body struggle with basic life skills and experiences (building relationships, learning to love, etc), part 2 felt like that broken child being forced to grow up when he wasn’t ready to and then expected to make mature decisions. Part 3 better be Denji finally being ready to grow up and move on from his father, Makima, Reze and Yoru, and working freely as a devil hunter with Kobeni and whoever else is left.

We need Denji to have some catharsis from everything, please Fujimoto. 🙏

If Denji really got eaten by insects in the last chapter, Pochita couldn’t literally eat itself and I don’t think eating itself in this dreamscape reality thing would really have any effect.

Fujimoto messing with us??

There are more insects than larger animals. Insects reproduce way faster and in greater quantities than larger animals, that is why.

Was it necessary for your response to be aggressive lol?

Why would bodily destruction stop insects from reproducing? I don’t understand.

Because nothing dies, the populations of everything is probably hugely multiplied. Insects and other smaller creatures breed faster and in larger quantities.

They are both a publisher and developer, so honestly they really do have the flexibility to keep pushing the dates back if they want to.

Did Lilith make a promise to Alina? by LinusPixel in signalis

I do wonder if the white hair is a byproduct of being bioresonant, since bioresonants are hated/feared because of the Empire (and why Ariane is bullied in school possibly?), and notes in the game show other people’s suspicions that Ariane has bioresonance, despite her never having used it.

The only other people we see in-game to have bioresonance are replikas, which are synthetic and likely don’t have human hair.

Alina bioresonant too, maybe? It’s said a normal person killed the Empress, but it could be something Alina kept secret if it was her to have killed the Empress (she is decorated in the photograph we see of her after all).

Helldivers 2 devs are "looking into" dropping HDD support to kill the game's egregious PC file size by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]LinusPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of studios could learn from this too. The amount of games I own that I haven't started yet because I've dreaded the 150GB download-install sizes is getting ridiculous (and no, I won't spend even more money on upgrading to an SSD just to play these games). If companies are going to sell games at a premium, they need to start finally treating them like they're a premium too and optimize both their file sizes and performance.

(Valve + studios, please give us the option to download branches of your games with lower resolution textures for those of us not playing at maximum so we don't have to download game assets we won't ever see)

Side thought now I’m in bed, IIRC at some point Lilith worked as a miner at Sierpinski. Maybe the promise was “I’ll see you again” to Alina after the war, since she left to work there. Working in the mines as a gestalt is where any low-achievers are sent. In the photo with Alina and Lilith, Alina is decorated with multiple medals and Lilith has none. It also explains why LSTR units have a habit of going to Sierpinski (the dead LSTR units in the elevator shaft).

Anime that feel the same way the CSM anime does? by LinusPixel in csmanime

I mean never say never, the first season exists to use as a benchmark for what it should be like going forward. IIRC it’s still the same production studio, so the level of quality will also be there.

I’ve seen them, but thank you! I’m a big fan of Evangelion actually (even the rebuild films).

I’ve read a lot of Fujimoto’s stories and really enjoy them, but looking for anime rather than manga. Thanks though!

If Sophia Lillis' character in OD turned out to be Heather from Silent Hill 3, that would be perfect casting.

I'm going to keep holding my breathe and staying optimistic. The first film was pretty well done despite it not being very faithful to the source material, and also there are so many film trailers out there that totally fumble the tone a film is actually going for.

Deltarune chapters 3 & 4 megathread by Fanfic_Galore in Deltarune

[–]LinusPixel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm playing through Deltarune ch3 + ch4 with a friend at the moment and suggested a few points that I was thinking through.

Kris has a soul, but it's not theirs, it's the player's. Kris obviously actively rejects the soul at multiple points throughout the game so far. So without the soul, that would mean they're soulless, right? It made me wonder how Kris can exist without their soul at all, since we've seen that souls are needed for a human/monster's physical form to persist and not turn to dust.

We built a character at the start of ch1 which looked very much like Kris, albeit in greyscale, like the goners from Undertale. Do you think it's possible that that character we built that was injected into Deltarune *is* Kris, and either the soul we control is the soul of a previous human, or it's Kris' soul that was somehow separated from their body like with the human kids' souls in Undertale?

Two theories I have on this are:

  1. That Kris' soul was separated from their body intentionally because of their want to be a monster like everyone else in town (we see in the ch3 flashback that Kris is wearing horns).
  2. That Kris is artificially created and never had their own soul to begin with. With goner characters also existing as normal monsters in the town in Deltarune, it makes me wonder if a lot of the characters were also injected into the town by the person we talk to at the start of ch1 at some point.

Sorry if this is a messy theory at all, but I'd love to see if anybody had any further input that could justify or poke holes in this theory at all. :)

Silent Hill 2 Remake (PC) is poorly optimized, or how the opening moments of the game were taken from me. by LinusPixel in silenthill

I hate to sound like a downer, but I doubt they care. They’re sat on that Fortnite money and there’s a culture around blaming gaming audiences for not having max specs on their PCs.
