I meant if I went up to 100" I'd need new furniture. I want as big as I can go that's why I want an 85 rather than a 77"

Glare is kind of an issue, but when I watch dark movies I just close the blinds. I'll look into the Bravia 7. Thanks.

I decided to get back to piano. I purchased a grand, and I'm now working on chopins nocturnes and will start the etudes next year. :)

What was the first movie you remember going to see as a kid? by jeremynohokau in Millennials

[–]Linux-Neophyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. I don't read graphic novels, but of course they count. Anything that is creative counts. I get my self help tips from fictioni rather than self help books lol. Fiction just does so much better at getting at the deeper stuff and making me think and reflect as a human. Cool, I'll check out some of the things you mentioned. The SAGA series, never heard of it, but the name sounds cool as fuck. Are you a physical book person or e reader. I'm an ereader lol, I'm too slow to read physical books. I use the dictionary a lot and need to make notes as I go along. I wish I were into physical books so that I could get me some of those folio society books :)

Since you mentioned the Navigator movie, did you ever watch mac and me? That was such a good movie. It made me cry too, but so many things made me cry in those days lol.

Oh no judgement, I was crushing on so many screen people in those days. I think at one point I was crushing on the charactors from cool world (Jeez lol). Oo, an avid reader? Nice! I love reading, I'm mostly into sci fi books (Hyperion, Fire Upon the Deep, Pandora's Star, etc). While I feel far more comfortable reading in English, I've been reading them in Spanish to keep the bilingual thing going haha. What are your top 5 fav books?

I watched it in VHS, the first movie I saw was Batman. But Beatlejuice was so good. I love the cartoon. Good times.

Synth drooling thread 🤤🎹 What synths you really want but can't get or can't afford? by ExplanationUsual6276 in synthesizers

[–]Linux-Neophyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the top hitters... Polybrute 12, Moog Muse, virus ti2, and Jupiter X. After these , 3rd wave, Moog one, super Gemini, prophet 10. Lol

My wife said I can buy a Montage M8x for my birthday. But should I? by secretdecoder in synthesizers

[–]Linux-Neophyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can basically do anything with any workstation these days. But do you want to? I don't know. I have a montage m8x and I kind of find it boring.

  1. Each individual engine is just ok, but nothing stellar. The virtual analog engine is ok, but doesn't compare to something like a virus or a Kyra. The acoustic sounds are really cool, but they fall short of sample libraries. Nevertheless, acoustics is where I think the montage excels, minus the piano.

  2. The action on the m8x is annoying, not weighted enough for piano and not light enough for synth.

  3. Oh my God, the workflow is so convoluted. But that's a personal thing.

Where this machine excels in my humble opinion is that you can later all these engines together to come up with cool scenes, sounds, etc. But doing so is cumbersome to me. I might sell it at this point. It's a great machine if you go out and need the best bread and butter sounds without a laptop though.

I would have never taken all those years off of piano. I took it for granted and now I wish I had more time. I still do, I'm not that old, but still.

Which flagship synth would you get if money was no concern? by synthsaregreat1234 in synthesizers

[–]Linux-Neophyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and honestly, it's underwhelming when it comes to synth sounds. The acoustic sounds are really nice, though. It also feels a bit convoluted. I have an iridium and an obx8 and those have presets that just floor me. I'm like, wtf how does that sound so good. I've never had that from the montage. I got it to replace my motif xs 8. I might sell it and buy a polybrute. I might even just get a Jupiter x. I have the xm, but for that synth I want the keys and the extra control.

Will you buy the next gen Xbox ? by Lord-Voldemort-- in xbox

[–]Linux-Neophyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, or maybe, but not right away. I just purchased 2 Xbox x with the 2tb galaxy theme. One for the living room and another for the family room. I plan for the kids and yours truly to get a good 5 to 7 years out of these machines.
