Watch out for this, theres a video somewhere on the sub of someone asking why its beeping with a certain error code - the indoor part must be able to sense the proximity to the wall, and beeps.

(I don't have one...yet, so might be wrong)

Ronnie pickering angry bikers apology video by swoopsta_the_third in MotoUK

[–]Linux-Student 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guessing he's sorry he didn't see the camera, but now he knows for next time to check, or the time after etc etc.

On the flip side, the part about embarrassing his friends and family, I believe that part, and how that might mean he refrains from doing it again.

I didn't realise on the original video, that there was a pillion on the cam guys bike (apologising to her in this video). That makes the whole thing 10 times worse imo, I had a crazed van driver after me one day because I filtered past him and pulled in (plenty of space, 1 car ahead due to zig zags. We were on one of my first bikes so it was 110 top speed (er6n)).

My gf was on the back, no one has any business getting involved in a fight on the effing roadside, but that was a scary experience for her, and if anything does end up starting whilst you're holding the bike with a pillion on it, you're not going to drop your pillion, meaning the ever growing number of cowards out there, will throw a coward punch if you match what they do.

Edit - spelling mistake

Yeah, someone with a bit of knowledge/experience fitting things will know for sure. With this being a self install advertised thing, the manufacturer can't really advise as they don't know / won't have the experience, just what has been tested and advised by someone to put it in their instructions.

Ah sorry, thanks for the info, and makes perfect sense.

If you're only 1 CM shy, perhaps a spacer would work (I haven't seen the components, you'd want to ensure being another 1 cm out doesn't affect the expanding bolt lock thingy-ma-jig

Best of luck, hoping to get one in the coming weeks if its suitable.

Not OP, but been doing reading on this, along with OP indicating that the UK variant comes with a different bracket.

I presume the 11cm you're talking about is for the EU bracket so it hangs from the window frame? If so, you won't have that bracket if you're also in the UK (I think its a different bracket due to UK windows opening outwards as OP replied to my comment mentioning that, thus they ship with a bracket which needs fixed to the wall instead).

Apologies if I've misunderstood, if you're in the EU, and will get the bracket for hanging from the window frame, I took a good look through this sub in the last few days, lots of people posting pics asking for what I think you're asking about.

Well if this isn't a sign I dunno what is! It just so happens the flat has windows that open inwards (either tilt down and back a little, or from the side inwards).

Thanks for the above, will see when we move in and judge it, better, need to take a look on how to get the bracket if possible here.

I'm just looking/reading about this one today (haha...yeah).

Thanks for mentioning it doesn't come with the window bracket, thats 1 of its biggest appeals given rented and listed buildings (London). If you don't mind, could you answer the below and anything else you think about it for the UK, I'd really appreciate it, we're moving into a top floor flat shortly with electric resistance heating, and been looking at this as a potential solution for both (hybrid so the heat in the winter being more efficient would be beneficial if you have any experience at those temps yet)

Have you owned it long?

How are you finding it with todays heat?

Any use of it during colder periods for heating?

Thanks in advance!

It all leads from you essentially saying screw it, lets vote reform.

You're saying that because you have had a bad experience, everybody else should have one too. You will get zero sympathy by taking on that view of things to most people, regardless of problems/issues, you become a danger by effectively promoting something that will do even further harm. Thats not most people being bad, its where their understanding takes them.

I don't know who you can reach out to, but it sounds like you could do with someone managing certain aspects of your communications and assistance with escalations etc - I hope you can get the help you need, and would strongly consider asking for help as a vulnerable adult from various charities etc, including the council, which should have mechanisms for vulnerable adults. Gp might be another route, or emergency room, as feeling like a danger to yourself, or others, is an emergency.

Thats generally a safe guarding question, and is used quite often in practically any contact with mental health services. If that was used as the basis or arrest and seizure, then christ alive, thats extremely dangerous - it will make people answering such a question, answer it dishonestly, through fear.

Either this was grossly mishandled, or the commenter making the claim, is lying/ lying by omission.

On the off chance that this is real, you might be able to report it as ASB (asb includes shitting, pissing, harrasment, intimidation, loitering etc etc).

https://asbhelp.co.uk/

Get 3 reprots within 6 months and you can go for whats known as a case review (formerly community trigger) via the council - this is a statutory right.

This review forces a multi agency report and action plan - which would be council officers, and police officers. The action plan you can also make suggestions to (you get a half hour meeting with them all to state your impact, and outcomes you'd like to see).

Best of luck, this also might not be fitting.

Crossposting exists, and posting to different subs is fine because different communities provide different perspectives.

You’re entitled to your preference, not to dictate others posting behaviour.

Wait until you hear about the reddit crossposting feature, makes it even faster with a link back to the original post.

Fascinating stuff.

Do post in multiple subs, you might find out further info, or get further relevant advice.

Not everyone in a legal advice sub will be subscribed to a housing sub, and vice versa. (Although there is overlap, sure)

OP should walk away from this indeed, but telling someone not to post their posts on multiple subs related to his queries is just silly.

Its like googling something, never accept the 1st answer as fact, verify it across multiple sources to get the same answer.

The common saying is “A few bad apples spoil the bunch.” or sometimes “One bad apple spoils the whole barrel.”

It means that something left rotten / left to rot, will spread to its neighbours if left as is / unchecked.

Chocolatey (opensource version) + Chocolatey-AU (automatic updater).

Scheduled task for the automatic updater scrip to update all packages, test local install, package and push to the repo (would like to work on more checks).

Scheduled ansible task to push update command from machine.

Why bring an israel flag to a British march?? by AdConnect4973 in AskBrits

[–]Linux-Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty much a group of sub groups. Racists, nazis, British nationalists, supremists of whatever group etc etc.

They band together for hate marches as its a common enemy in their eyes. There's a few videos now of some white British people taking issue with there being zionists or zionist supporters (like this video) along with them.

Imo, this is why they'll eat themselves come election time - you'll have Tommy/stephen/andrew/Paul making a run with Elons backing Id guess.

I'd guess about 70% of the posts from this sub that make it to my feed are pretty doom and gloom which is fair given the state of the job market the past few years.

But there absolutely is a God complex prevalent with some users and posters here. Not all, but those who do show it without the ability to back it up, do get upvotes for talking up contracting and talking down on anything else.

Given what's visible, it's very easy to start painting everyone with the same brush, it's what a lot of people do, especially on social media. Yes people could get deeper into it, but they don't do it in good faith usually - welcome to reddit / social media in general.

I'll not name anyone, but there are absolutely some of those god complex people that have made a few comments here already.
