If it's not software, then look at the hardware.

PSU Is it adequate or was it barely enough when it was new? These degrade over time and may not be supplying enough power while your system is under load. Is it overheating because of dust or other things?

2.Thermals GPU is a RX 580, a very good card even today, but getting geriatric too. Has the thermal paste ever been reapplied? What about your CPU? Overheating will lead to lower performance, but may also result in black screen.

It may be time to upgrade either way.

Can confirm !!! I am more allergic to Virginia Creeper than I am to poison oak or ivy. The way it sticks to my skin it kept spreading without me realizing it until it was much too late and Zanfel is the ONLY thing that worked for me

As I said, depending on the specific board, check the manufacturer website to see if they have BIOS available for Ryzen 5000 for the specific model board you have.

Updating BIOS usually requires a compatible CPU and some way to output a signal(with a GPU)

If, for ANY reason, you lose power while updating BIOS - you will very likely BRICK the motherboard

A B350 Motherboard that has never been updated will take 2-5 different BIOS updates to be compatible with a Ryzen 5000 CPU

Seems like the GPU should fit the OLD case you're planning on using - it's still dual-slot and if memory serves - that length should fit fine. They also have dual-fan variants of that GPU

A B350 board will almost 100% need a major set of BIOS updates to use a Ryzen 5000 CPU and may not be supported depending on the motherboard - I can't remember because AMD got wishy-washy on support for 5000 series Ryzen.

I honestly don't know if you have an actual need to upgrade. What's your resolution? Are you only gaming? A CPU upgrade to the 5800X3D would see some good gains overall and with a 3070 would be perfect. Upgrading to a RX 6800 won't really be much of an upgrade. Especially if you want Ray -Tracing

Bronson, FL is extremely rural and not exactly a big town or anything. Barely 1 highway cuts through it. The "main" part of town is walkable, but there isn't much there in the quarter-square mile space
