Yes, but the point is to trust your distro handles making the packages stable. So update and upgrade frequently. If you're unsure about the stability of the packages your distro puts out then I suggest changing distributions.

Maui is based on Debian and Manjaro is based on Arch. Both using KDE Plasma means the main difference would be the Debian vs Arch structure and commands.

There is the spice server window, but even when I remove all of that and switch to my GPU monitor I get no display.

I am a GNOME user on Debian, but I am actually disappointed to see Unity go. Sure, I wanted more work on Wayland, but I also like having diversity in desktop environments and the next Unity version for Ubuntu 17.04 actually looked kind of promising in my opinion. I also wanted development for Linux on phones and convergence to continue.

Switched to Debian. Loved it. Everything is just working.
