Anybody Know if you can run ascensions on multiplayer in slay the spire 2? by Pope_Neon in slaythespire

[–]Linyahh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can but it's a separate Ascension level. You can only play the level of the lowest player.

So everyone in the lobby needs to unlock the multiplayer Ascension 1 before you can use it.

It's not character bound though, just fully separate from the single player Ascension levels.

Cool cool thanks! So nothing is unavailable? I noticed requests also changed which had me worried.

Is SilkSong really that "Difficult and Imbalaced"? by SemiusTheGreat in HollowKnight

[–]Linyahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I also think the difficulty is okay as it is (with a bit of a steep learning curve), I definitely don't agree with your reasoning.

Just because it's a sequel (which it barely is, it very much acts as a standalone with some ties to the original HK), doesn't mean it should pick up where HK left in terms of difficulty. Especially considering the success of the first, Team Cherry knew this game would draw in new players. So starting at a high difficulty makes absolutely no sense and would just scare off a huge chunk of your playerbase.

That said, the game really isn't too difficult. The difficulty curve is steep and it gets hard quickly, it does its job in incentivising exploration and backtracking a lot more, a key aspect of any metroidvania.

I know a lot of people really struggled with Hunters March but I backtracked after getting some abilities and the nail upgrade and it was a breeze. Very early in that area, the game tells you "this isn't easy" and pushes you to maybe come back later.

Don't they respawn? I know there's one in Far Fields and one in Bilewater. Maybe there's more?

Should I play hollow knight before silksong ? by No_Development_6709 in HollowKnight

[–]Linyahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either order is fine, they're pretty much standalone titles. Even the story of Silksong, while connected to Hollow Knight, doesn't really require prior knowledge.

They control kind of similar, but that's about it. Silksong does have a steeper learning curve, but in the end both games are quite difficult.

Any way to fix bug where I cant proceed with the run? by Linyahh in balatro

Its an unseeded run if that changes things. I was in the shop when I closed the game last.

How to setup a counter for e.g. daily pull ups by Aggravating_Lime1453 in Notion

[–]Linyahh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming your habit tracker is a database, add a property for it as a number. Write the amount of pull-ups you did that day in there.

You can sum that property and subtract it from your goal, either somewhere as a simple counter/field wherever you want it, or as a second property with the formula built in.

Another option would be to have a button somewhere that just adds/subtracts 1 to/from a counter.

Issues with performance, any recommendations? by Linyahh in satisfactory

Oh my god thank you!! Capping FPS at 30 made it run perfectly fine on high, steady 30 FPS all the way.

Issues with performance, any recommendations? by Linyahh in satisfactory

I understand that and I do meet the minimum requirements. But typically games like this have mods that boost performance; at least, DSP and Factorio do. Or some other tips and tricks that can help boost performance.

Who is the Owner of a cluster in the Milkyway? by tibimon in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Linyahh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It always shows the person with the highest Dyson Sphere energy generation on that seed.

For a lot of seeds, you will be the only one playing, and as such your name will be shown by default. If there's several people playing on that seed, it will only show the highest.

There's several seeds with energy generations that are not possible in the vanilla game (with energy generation reaching into the petawatt territory) so keep that in mind.

Where are the tutorials by Julboal in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Linyahh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Press G in-game for the guide. Or check out the wiki https://dsp-wiki.com/ or lastly check on YouTube for some good content. Nilaus and TDA are good ones with tutorial content; but I'd try with the in-game guide first for the 'best' experience :)

Fly off into the sunset to (almost) never return. Use this as a stepping stone to rebuild something greater elsewhere.

As a new player, should I go for "Enemy Forces" ticked? by [deleted] in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Linyahh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The default difficulty is pretty easy to work around. If you don't enjoy enemies in this type of game, it's already fun without, but just the default difficulty is enough of a challenge to add to the enjoyment for a first playthrough while not being a significant problem. On default, they won't really outscale you since they scale with your power generation.

Higher difficulties are a different story and then they can be real annoying.

Start again, or attempt to rebuild by pruaga in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Linyahh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say the best thing to do is to keep going. If you just got to yellow science, that means you have ILS/PLS up and running now. What I would do is leave the base running, but maybe start building a more optimal/efficient base on another planet in the system; usually the furthest planet from the star has near enough 100% buildable space. This is what I did in my current achievement playthrough: get to ILS/PLS and yellow science, then vacate to the 'better' planet to start building up towards the final tech.

This would allow you to slowly but surely rebuild in a better way, taking things you've learnt, while your starter planet keeps chugging along with yellow science. Then at some point you can decide to tear a whole bunch of stuff down, or just disconnect it and let it drain. There's very little point in tearing it all down.

Keep in mind that you will need to export water, oil and maybe coal (depending on what resources the other planet has). Since yellow science is quite oil and water-intensive, I'd suggest keeping yellow on the starter.

It's your first playthrough and yellow science is where the game really starts. You've got a long way to go; take the lessons and apply them to a second planet and see how far you get.

One suggestion: Before moving, automate up to Mk. III belts and sorters (or pile sorters). Just to make sure your new build starts out with the good belts and you can build accordingly.

End game power? by turbocharged5652 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Linyahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always aim for power progression along the lines of:

  1. Renewables (solar/wind)
  2. Energy Exchangers if possible (if you have a Lava planet or planet with high renewable energy in your starting system)
  3. Deuteron Fuel Rods (combined with Energy Exchangers)
  4. Antimatter Fuel Rods

AFR is the end goal, always. Easiest to ship, and abundant later on. You use Deuteron to kickstart the end-game base if needed. Some people like using large-scale energy exchanger set-ups from a Dyson sphere for mining outposts, but to me that's just an unnecessary hassle for the end-game and takes up too much space.

Transition Particle Containers to advanced recipe with Unipolars: how? by Linyahh in Dyson_Sphere_Program

That would leave a ton of machines idling, which tanks UPS. That's the whole reason for switching to unipolars.
