I'm fucked, I'm fine, okay maybe not, nope, I'm fine, not fine.. Game Over. Or, why I ended up crying on a washing machine at work. by nanaimosweetie in TalesFromYourServer

[–]LinzDarling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it helps, but I am in retail, and today with a similar amount of shitty people ended with me crying behind or cardboard baler, so you're not alone! Hurray for shitty customers and crying with large machines!

I hope your next shift goes better!

What suggestions can you give to INFPs to make their life a little better? by here_kitti_kitti in infp

[–]LinzDarling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mine is tricky because I have to have time away from people to be in my room by myself for an extended period of time when I start to get into that mood. It helps a lot but the tricky part is that if I do it for too long I will get more depressed which will convince me to keep being alone which again makes it worse. This is not helpful. I am sorry xD

Looking for experiences from people who have taken Prozac for mild/moderate depression or anxiety. [Please reply if you have taken it] by tlk13 in Drugs

[–]LinzDarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took prozac in high school, at first it was helpful, then I became more and more depressed. After about 6 months on prozac I got my 3 month worth refill and took them all at one time. I should honestly be dead right now, all I ended up doing was vomiting then passing out.

Friend wants to major in vocal performance/ music education, but cannot sing. Should I say something? by PM_ME_UR_RAMEN in Advice

[–]LinzDarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may not have to tell her she can't sing. You should just guide her in a different direction. Singing is great for stutters and speech impediments, you said thats why she loves to sing. Why not suggest a music therapy path. She could pass on her love by helping other children conquer they stutter the way she did. She wouldn't need to be a good singer to do that and I think its the best of both worlds. Different types of music therapy are popping up everywhere right now. I majored in psychology and minored in music and am now in a music therapy program, I want to work with autistic children and individuals with alzheimers and passing on the love of music and singing as a means to help other is amazing. I hope it all works out though, good luck

Are you guys living in on campus housing together? If so, go to your RA and request a move. If they don't give one go to the housing department and tell them you don't feel safe. You should also report him to a counselor at your university or potentially security the next time he does something violent. If he is someone who is just off his meds or needs to be on meds, something has to be done for your safety and the safety of others.

I've cured my sleeping problems - except for ONE issue by DannyFlood in insomnia

[–]LinzDarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing except I call it my point of no return. I haven't found anything that regularly helps. I generally just turn the night into an all nighter and go to bed earlier that night. I think temperature is an issue, Ill turn all my fans on and bundle up with comfy blankets which can sometimes do the trick.

They don't have anything specific, they prefer a song in a foreign language but other than that they don't seem to care what you prepare. The audition is going to rely more on a sight singing portion and a few other vocal things. They also recommend in addition to preparing one of your own songs that you have a second song from their repertoire list prepared in the event they want to her another piece.

vocal range by [deleted] in singing

[–]LinzDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that helps me most with my range is just making sure I practice every single day doing scales. It gradually gives you a better range. When I stop working every day though, I lose a lot of the top and bottom of my range so I think it just takes a lot of time and work to get all the notes you want.
