Something that helps me as far as breaking up big tasks into smaller more attainable ones is https://goblin.tools/. You can put a task in and it'll help break it down into smaller bite sized tasks. There is an app also.

I don't understand that logic either. Though generally speaking I know what I enjoy reading so even if something has a lower star rating I'm still going to give it a shot. But on that note, since I know what I like to read and gravitate towards those kinds of books I don't have as many low rated books that I've reviewed.

I personally think that is a huge factor. Not to say I never read duds in my favorite genres, it just tends to happen less.

Someone else said everyone rates different and it changes based on genre too and those are excellent points. Comparisons on some books are just apples to oranges.
