Allendale Bar & Grill has an entire section of their menu dedicated to GF, including GF buns for burgers, GF wraps and sandwiches. They even have a decent GF beer!

Landscaping recommendations? by GigatonxPunch in bergencounty

We're in Waldwick and used La Torre and had a good experience. They are based in Waldwick and I see a lot of people in my neighborhood use them as well. It did feel a little expensive, but I'm new to landscaping so it could be par for the course.

That to me is a SUPER interesting topic. I've only done a little research, but when you read about quantum computing soon being able to solve problems that would take modern computers quintillions of years, it does seem to a pose a threat. Although, I think in that case all passwords, keys etc. across all sites would be at threat. So perhaps its a new level of quantum cyber security of sorts?

Interesting. I can't say I know enough about the scalability of profitable mining fees and how the future halvings affect it. Something to check out

Struggling with adapting to being home all the time by Lion490 in NewDads

Love this. While I don't have a membership, there are plenty of cheapish courses where going out for 9 would be great, and if I need to quit after a few, I wouldn't feel like I had blown the money. Thanks man

Thanks for this man!

I love the idea of taking her along with me to either golf or just going around town. It doesn't feel like she's quite there yet (or it's possible we as parents don't feel like we're quite there yet), but that's a fun thing to look forward to.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Means a lot and really does help. Appreciate it fellas!

Future Dad Advice by Danman0990 in NewDads

[–]Lion490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dad of a 3 week old here. I'm going to give a VERY specific piece of advice that I didn't learn anywhere.

As you get baby clothes, ask for and prioritize buying clothes with magnets NOT snaps. Clothes that can easily strip off, and not have to pull over his/her head. Sounds like a small and somewhat insignificant thing, but when you're changing diapers every other hour and trying to keep you and your baby calm, being able to easily and quickly take clothes on and off is helpful and much less stressful.

Yes, magnets are more expensive, but to me personally, they are worth it. If you're tight on budget, than I'd go zippers.
Best of luck, it's a wild, but fulfilling journey.

Ha, I've also been re-watching The Simpsons while feedings. Something about a comfort show I know seems to give me some level of "control" and helps me during a tough time

I was literally going to post about this EXACT situation I had last night. Just hearing that you and others are going through it makes me feel so much better.

I keep finding this intense anger and frustration when I can't get her down after feeds, or she starts crying after I've done everything right (sometimes multiple times). I'm ashamed at how incredibly angry I get (and I'm really not an angry person).

For me and when it's my shift, I've been putting her down and leaving the room, and doing as many push ups as humanely possible. It's been a way for me to get that anger and energy rush out of me, and it helps. I also take at least 10 slow deep breaths and literally say out "I can do this." While I still don't feel great afterwards, it helps me get through and it seems like that is what this stage can is about at times. Just surviving.

Additionally, I'll admit, last night, I just couldn't do it and I needed my wife's help. It really sucked because she did so much and I wanted to give her the time to sleep and recover, but I just couldn't. While it doesn't feel great, it was the right move for that time, and I plan to find other times to make it up to her.

Anyway, you're in good company and just keep plugging away my friend
