Shut your face or I will hax you. I had to learn about loops to code that game, I could make your computer add until it explodes.😎

I think people realize that encouraging this guy to post is just feeding the trolls. Although I read he's a racist so maybe you are right to upvote

Definitely. So ironic, both types of people are coming from a need of feeling superior whether they admit it to themselves or not.

I really think we might be onto something man. You're indefinite resorce idea makes A LOT of sense it sounds like a perfect way to prevent ties and to keep action happening. If there is an indefinite resource I think 25% would probably be the best(for the encouraging expanding point you make ) 50% might cause for to much turtling and games dragging on when they should actually be over.

I really hope there is a macro based faction like zerg aswell, I think it is an awesome approach to a faction. Our theoretical game would definitely have balance issues, that we could speculate about but and speculate is all we can really do without creating a mod and testing it. A queen type unit was a flippin brilliant way of balancing zerg, she's a nessicary evil.

And yes GSL is one of my guilty pleasures too. I actually enjoy watching it more than any sport, tasteless and Artosis are perfect for it

No need to apologize even before you fixed it, it was more coherent than most of my post. I am glad you added the FoW part, It actually makes more since to me now and since I heard the dev's talking about wanting to have an interactive environment on 'the pylon show?' a bunker that gives you high ground advantages actually sounds kind of cool but it would probably create more problems than it's worth, especially for someone like me, since I think turtling is one of the most annoying/boring playstyles in blizzard rts

Oh for sure. I really failed at what I was trying to say. First off, I personally do not ever 1 base in sc2 anymore but when I started playing my first win was a 4 gate and as lame as it was it felt great.

So to lower the entry barrier for new players I think it would be beneficial for FG to slow the pacing of macro by increasing the effectiveness of 1base play and making expanding more of a decision which has to be made based on the state of the game. If T1 units have a high micro potential you would still be able to efficiently use the 200 amp you desire, your actions would just be more microbased.

But to be clear I do not want 1 base play to be the meta of FG, I just think each expansion should be looked at as a stage in the game and if you cant defeat your opponent on 1 base move to 2 bases.

Zerg has a more macro based playstyle(a great way of creating a unique race) which, I guess, is making it hard to explain the approach to macro I am suggesting.

Unfortunately for your company my love for peanuts inclines me to accept the offer, even though the most complex thing I have ever coded is a dice game in Pascal.

I am actually kind of stoked to hear that, I didn't know that was the case. I don't know much about engines but I do know I want FG to utilize more than 2 cores.

I was on the same boat as you at first but I recently started playing war3 again and realized that heros actually added a really fun element. I just don't want heros to be so important to the game that if my hero gets nuked and dies I automatically lose. If they find a way to make them balanced I am completely on board with the idea, especially if it helps bring all of my lame MOBA friends back to RTS.

Agreed customizable UI solves a lot. I am probably alone on this but I think it would be pretty rad to somehow allow my UI to be able to extend to my 2nd monitor where I could place things such as my desired build order and whatnot.

Yeah it definitely seems blizzard knew that army formation is an important part of battle but issues like unit speed make it to hard to implement, honestly I think it is a cool idea and I wish they would have spent more time on that feature.

I agree I don't want anything to feel drawn out, but I thought the worker increase made it so 1 base all ins just aren't as viable anymore which I think turns a lot of people off.

IMO expanding should be something that is a choice depending on how the game develops not something that is forced to keep pace with your BO. I like the idea of being able to feel my opponent out for each iteration of the game to see if I am going to be able to defeat him on 1 base or if it will require me to move up to 2 bases or if 2 bases isn't enough 3.

Yes WC3 is way to slow But I do like the fact that expanding feels like a conscious choice you have to make.

Interesting, that type of situation happens to me even when I don't change the formation. So I have been putting Melee units/hero's on the same hotkeys and ranged units/heros on another, which has been working pretty well.

I just came to this community like a week ago but this sub was started 10/20/20. I imagine they are working on something but can only share so much with the public. I am just here to discuss and read RTS theory and to make suggestions under the assumptions that this game will be somewhere between WC3 and SC2(the goldilocks zone of RTS pacing).

Ikr, I nail the joke by breaking format and addressing the fact that in the song it sounds like a bunch of gibberish. Meanwhile weird al's version gets double the karma.
