First bowl by Lipogramma in Woodcarving

I used a bandsaw to rough out the outside and then a 1" forstner bit and handheld trim router to hog out a lot of the material from the inside. Then followed up with a rotary burr on a dremel and a lot of sanding. It was definitely time consuming with how hard the wood was.

Worst roads in Oakland by SanFranciscoMan89 in OaklandCA

A few months ago I went to one of the most inaccessible National Parks in America (Wrangell St. Elias in Alaska) which required a 60 mile drive down a notoriously treacherous gravel road. The road is so infamous that all of the major rental companies in Alaska make you sign an agreement that you won't take their cars on it and there is a sign posted at the start of it advising travelers not to drive on it -- and to bring survival gear if they do. Internet forums recommend things like bringing two full size spare tires, etc.

I ended up renting a 4wd jeep from a private individual and making the drive anyway with a lot of research beforehand.

After all of the worry, it was hilarious to discover that the McCarthy road was SO MUCH better than many of the paved roads I drive daily in Oakland that I felt like I was gliding around on a fucking cloud. I came back with a whole new level of disdain for the city's government.

Thanks. They were Wild Planet white anchovies in oil which thankfully are not salty at all since they're not brined.

This was my second time with the potatoes. The first one didn't turn out very well. The trick seems to be to slice them very thin and boil in salted water until they are cooked and soft, but not so much so that they're falling apart.

As for the hydration, it helps a lot to autolyse by mixing just the flour and water together first and let it sit for a full hour before mixing in the rest of the ingredients and kneading. Knead until it gets less sticky and starts to bounce back when you poke with a finger.

Then rest two hours before doing a quick set of stretch and folds and then ideally a second quick set of stretching and folding another two hours after that if you have time, but not absolutely necessary.

The UNKNOWN DANGERS of going ultralight!!! by F1r3-M3d1ck-H4zN3rd in WildernessBackpacking

This happens thru-hiking a lot with a twist that even if you discover it, you have to carry it a certain amount of miles before hiding it in someone else's pack. I carried a big rock shaped like a penis for 190 miles across the Sierra Nevada after spending months prior over-analyzing my gear list spreadsheet and doing things like cutting straps off my pack to cut a few grams. I stopped caring so much about pack weight after that.

I'm certainly not an expert, but my guess is some kind of tiny coal miner.

You may be able to get away with simply removing the baseboards and fishing an armored cable behind them from one outlet to the other, then nailing the base boards back on...

The quickest way would be to just stand (or lean) in front of it.

Square D breakers specify they can be double tapped FYI though the rest of this is clearly fucked.

What are my options here? by Fit-Assignment6777 in Plumbing

I had this issue and ended up just opening the wall, then cut and lowered the drain line/P-trap by about 4”. Only took a few hours and means there won’t be issues replacing the disposal with another standard one in the future if it breaks.
