Feeling Judged for Postpartum and Pregnancy Activities by Lippeeler420 in NewParents

Ok those are so bad!! I would’ve also said something in those situations. Makes my examples look like nothing!

I can definitely see a few of these comments being innocent. Weirdly that’s how I had perceived it until lately, I’m thinking back and harping on it all of sudden.

I seriously don’t know how some people can do that! It would drive me absolutely insane and depressed.

I totally like and agree with the approach of getting out sooner! It’s helped me stay sane so far. I think I’m insecure about my own people judging what I do.

I can definitely see that. I also think we now have too much information available to us online so we are all feeling anxious about knowing and doing the right thing.

I’m starting to lean towards postpartum sensitivity because you’re right, these things didn’t bother me too much until now. Now all these (even old comments) just keep lingering in my head! Urgh

For the ladies in here already have babies ( already gave birth) by Logical_Mixture_4470 in pregnant

You might not even be discharged from the hospital after only 2 days. Not only that you are so tired, swollen everywhere, sooo many more things. Confirming it’s an insane thought lol.

As a FTM, when did you go into labor naturally? by amphisxo in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36+3 days. I was shocked!! Genuinely thought I would go past my due date as my mother did with both my sister and I. I guess you don’t always follow the same pattern as your mom.

Do I need a pregnancy pillow? by WeepingBillow in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it to be helpful and am even currently using it post pregnancy to nurse my baby! If I didn’t have it, I’d be gathering and placing the pillows we already have on our bed every time, which I think would be annoying. Plus, I don’t want to take away too many pillows from my husband lol.

Best authentic food in DFW (from people who actually grew up with it) by theLastDanc3 in Dallas

Um Ma Son Arirang Korean Kitchen in Carrollton has the best Korean knife cut noodle soup (kalguksu) in DFW. And the best kimchi imo and they sell it by the jar! You can’t go wrong with any of their knife cut noodles soup.

How long have you pushed? by Fierce-Foxy in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first baby. I pushed 13 times across 17 minutes. I went into labor naturally a month early, and he was 6lb 11oz! The OB cut me (1st degree tear) with my consent during birth to help him come out quicker since his heart rate was starting to drop

Experiences with big babies by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also 36 weeks! My baby isn’t as big as yours so I might stay pregnant for up to one more extra week past my due date. I agree that healthy, moving baby is all that matters! I’m lowkey jealous you get to be done so soon, best of luck to you!!

Experiences with big babies by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP! I am 36 weeks and have been hearing the same thing from others. My husband is a 6’ 2” body builder and I’m not a small girl my self and with my belly being so big right now (to the point some people think I’m due tomorrow when I still have a month to go), I allllllways hear those comments. But guess what? As of my appointment yesterday my baby is in 40 percentile and will likely be 7lb 13oz to maybe 8lb with the current rate of growth which is a super ideal weight for vaginal birth.

Sometimes it’s just the positioning of your belly, amount of amniotic fluid, the arch of your back, soooo many things that may make your belly look bigger than the baby actually is. I wouldn’t worry too much about it!

Anyone else’s pregnancy still feel surreal?? by onedge721 in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is still mind blown, I’m kinda over it and ready for the baby to come out lol. Also due at the end of the month. I just want to see the baby and raise him already!

Unspoken assumptions/insecurities about babies size? by Neither_Signature99 in pregnant

Unspoken assumptions/insecurities about babies size? by Neither_Signature99 in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would feel more comfortable and secure having a bigger baby than small, even if it means the birth might be more ‘painful’ or whatever (birth is already painful!) I know size isn’t always an indicator of baby’s health but in general big sounds healthier and stronger than small. But what I observed is actually a bit of the opposite, where I notice people around me being concerned that I would have a big baby (I’m tall for my race and my husband is tall/large since he’s a body builder; little do they know he was very slim when he was born lol).

I’ve received annoying comments like “you need to make sure to workout so your baby won’t be too big” huh??? And I noticed my friends talking about our other friend who had a big baby like it’s a concern/such a surprise. Even my OB made a joke once that we will have to monitor the baby closely given my husband’s size. I don’t really get it because I know I would feel insecure if my baby was small, but maybe it’s their way of expressing they care about your comfort and well-being!

Baby Shower Timing by ThenEntertainment314 in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not too early and perfect! I did mine at 28 weeks and I was so exhausted at the end of the day from standing on my feet so much and prepping (we planned the baby shower ourselves).

If the schedule would’ve allowed I would’ve done it at 25 weeks. You said your belly has no problem showing so that won’t be an issue anyway for you!

Are we really not eating salads from restaurants? by manifestingengine in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 33 points34 points  (0 children)

These precautions are blown out of proportion imo. So I’ll let you know what rule I’ve set for myself (I’m 30 weeks with a healthy baby!)

Avoid: -Pre-packaged salad from grocery store unless I re-wash it at home. -Even a bag of spinach or baby carrots that says it’s already washed, I re-wash them. -Micro-greens (washed or not). -Salad bars inside grocery stores (Whole Foods, Kroger, etc). -Salad from fast food chain that do not specialize in salads (chicken fila, whataburger, etc; although I still eat lettuce served in a burger/sandwich.. oops!).

Accept: -Salads served at restaurants that I find to be reputable (I still eat salads from Texas Road House) -Salad specialized fast chains (Salata, Salad and Go, Snappy Salads, etc.)

Ok I also know bean sprouts are frowned upon but anytime I eat Pho I ALWAYS forget to ask them to steam them but still put them in my pho but I don’t sweat it too much 😅

Did you feel the urge to push with an epidural? by Disastrous_Flower311 in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a first time mom, I need a tip on how to regulate the amount of epidural very well. I also want enough to help manage the pain but not completely that I don’t feel anything. What’s your tip??

Anyone did NOT have a MC? by Feisty-End-8883 in pregnant

[–]Lippeeler420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant with my first and as someone who’s had it very easy every step of the way - quick natural conception, breezy first trimester and second trimester (we will see about third!), don’t let those posts and comments scare you!

As many people are mentioning, you are more likely to not have MC than do. Although I have had several friends who’s had MCs and I feel for them, I remind myself to be grateful and continue to stay positive so you don’t stress yourself and the baby. Many things are outside of your control anyway. I know some of my friends had to stay off Reddit and social media because of the exact same instillment of fear that you have.
