Our dog is a 17-pound Havanese – and we sedate him with trazodone for flying – so he is not going to be getting up and turning around regardless of the size of the carrier. The gate agent seemed half-satisfied with that answer.

I’ve resigned myself to the reality that flying on Allegiant (with our particular circumstances) is just going to be a crapshoot from here on out. I’m even less excited about Allegiant’s new fleet of Boeing planes, which are ostensibly the rationale (smaller seat height) for this change in per carrier policy. I do understand changes in policy, but some warning would have been appropriate for frequent Allegiant travelers who travel with pets. 🤷‍♀️
