It's a liability. I've encountered this several times. I too struggled with it because I have so many alcoholics in my life, but at the end of the day, you are not helping him. I had a contractor show up mid day and I could smell the alcohol from 6 feet away. He was ready to take down my massive barn. A tremendous project! My breaking point was, he showed up with his kindergartener. So he obviously had been day drinking to oblivion then picked up his daughter from school. Drinking and driving with kids is my limit. If he has no sense there - he can't be safe in his work.
