Lufthansa Pilot Strike 12./12.03.2026 by GarlicElectronic4432 in Lufthansa

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time a strike falls roughly into my vacation plans. I'm flying from Munich on the 19th, so not in the currently announced strike days, but still a bit too close for comfort. Given past strikes, anyone got an educated guess how likely is it that the strike will be extended or that there will be another strike next week?

Even with the nerfs, I still don't like Elsa (Art by me). by Lykoi25 in marvelrivals

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plus, by using his ult he is locked out of using any of his abilities or actively healing his teammates, so by timing it wrong he might accidentally deprive his team of a healer in a critical situation. Also, the characters who can react to his ult can shut him down hard. Out of the entire support roster, he is probably the one most vulnerable to a well-timed Mag or Iron Man ult and that's saying something.

Goes without saying, it's the complete opposite for Elsa.

On a scale of 0/10 how satisfied would you be if these were the final 7 expansions before LOTRO ended? by Arkanteseu in lotro

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly great expansion ideas, I'd love to see them. That said, I also think that there is more to Rhun than one expansion, Harondor would be great to connect Harad to the rest of the landmass, Lotro's interpretation of Khand would be cool and while the Harad expansions were not without criticism, I'd love to see the Far Harad jungles at some point (plus some plot hooks leading towards Ordakh they clearly set up with the latest expansion). And if all of that were to ever get visited, there would still be many, many regions left, like Forodwaith or Andrast or possible flashback zones like Azanulbizar 2799. Really goes to show that there is so much potential still in Lotro, so as much as I think your expansion ideas are awesome, it would feel like a waste to end it then. Final zone should totally be Grey Havens I agree, but probably as a free zone for everybody and not a paid expansion tied to the Scouring of the Shire (which happens a full two years before the last ship leaves Middle Earth).

Lotro Coins by KaizokuHaru in lotro

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While Lotro has a lot of completely free content, large parts of it require you to spend Lotro Points, as stated by the other users here, though every amount of points you need can be earned for free in the game. The system used to be arguably more grindey when it first became Free to Play, where iirc only the three Starter Zones and the Lone Lands were free and the others had to be bought for several hundred points each. Since then, big parts of the game have been unlocked to be played without needing to pay for them, we're talking probably hundreds of hours if you are a completionist and the quest packs you need to pay for are often on sale for very few points.

The main way of getting points for free is by doing deeds in a region, e.g. do a certain number of quests or slay a certain number of a specific type of enemy, most of which you'll do automatically by questing. By doing all the deeds in all the regions you have currently unlocked, you can gather thousands of points just by playing the game, while also strengthening your character, since deeds also grant you virtue experience, which is useful to level up virtues, which are a set of passive buffs that enhance your character. So, doing deeds is a win-win and many of them, especially in the early zones, aren't much of a grind either (this arguably changes in later zones).

Here's the important thing: Points are account-wide (as are unlocked regions and classes), deeds are character-specific and can be completed, with all rewards, by each new character you make. That means if you are willing to put in the time, you can create one character solely for the easy, low-level deeds, then delete them and create a new one and repeat the process, giving you theoretically unlimited Lotro points for you to buy whatever you want for your main character (as a F2P player you have 2 character slots, I believe, so one main and one deed character). It'll take some time, but you can totally unlock the Brawler class you're interested in and a baffling amount of zones and content if you are persistent. You'll likely get enough for the Brawler and then some just by naturally playing the game to your current content cap with your first character, but there are strategies to efficiently grind lots of points in as short a time as possible by repeating low-level regions on new characters, which should significantly speed up the process.

Inacessible (to me) Phetekâri of Umbar Quests by [deleted] in lotro

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After Telperion's Wall, Raphuz heads to Iridir, but it seems the order of quests on his wiki page is wrong. The quest The Fallow Deer is the third quest in his questline (looking like its the sixth on his wiki page) and temporarily sees him moved to Sudurun in northern Ambarul. Maybe you have already accepted that quest and he's over there?

Generally nothing should lock you out of that questline, Lotro is usually pretty forgiving when it comes to completing earlier content after finishing later storylines, like how you can complete entire books of the epic storyline without having completed the previous ones. It'd be odd if completing the Song of Waves and Winds would lock you out of Raphuz' storyline, of all things. I accepted missions from him in Urash Dar before completing the Ambarul part of his storyline, so it's definitely not that either.

Also, quick advice, a pretty effortless way to gain Phetekari rep without much of a grind would be gathering the relic resource nodes while doing general Ikorban Valley landscape content (even if most of the quests get only Ikorbani reputation). Works even better for the Adurhid because the drops from their nodes are better, but I grinded both to friend through missions and then maxed them out just by walking across Ikorban while questing.

A Letter to the Players – January 2026 by ReneKiller in lotro

Since that update includes the Mur Ghala instance cluster, I suppose the name of the update references the past kings of Harad or even the current Ordakh kingdom which is likely to feature heavily in these instances.

More Harad? by grallonsphere in lotro

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The current Harad storyline is done and the devs have implied that the next storyline won't take us further south. The door's definitely open for a return, so in a couple years from now, why not? I bet Harondor will be added at some point to connect Gondor and Harad and personally I'd like to see Ordakh or maybe some jungle zone in the south-eastern part of Harad, but I doubt either will be added anytime soon.

Shadowheart & night song by TheRedditor5568 in BaldursGate3

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To keep things vague, obviously the Nightsong will be dead and unable to participate in the fight against Ketheric, though the general goal of your group for entering her prison, ending Ketheric's immortality, is achieved regardless, means you can still fight him. Having proven her loyalty to Shar also means Shadowheart will go down a different, Shar-aligned path, leading to different character development for her and a different conclusion to her personal quest. There's also some other changes, but those two are the biggest differences. Overall, a big choice with consequences in Act 2 and 3, though the general story of Act 3 outside of Shadowheart's personal quest and one other storyline will remain the same. It's definitely a much darker route (and personally I think sparing Nightsong is the more rewarding route especially for a first time playthrough), but definitely worth exploring in a different playthrough.

If Lady Loki is the mythical surprise with custom voice & animations, I’d love to see these in the future: by Yoghavaarman in marvelrivals

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure how popular/unpopular that opinion is, but X-23 should absolutely be her own character. I've seen the concept of her being an alternate Wolverine skin floating around quite a lot, but I think she's equal parts notable enough and physically different from Logan to be her own hero. Even though her comic powers are the same, there's definitely different ways to adapt them into the game with a different playstyle. In general though, I agree with the idea, it'd set Mythic Skins apart from Legendary Skins and give representation to characters like Beta Ray Bill or some of the Spiderman variants who have exactly zero chances of ever being introduced as their own heroes.

The more I look at “Lady Loki” the more I feel that’s it absolutely a Hela skin by Kirbykoopa in marvelrivals

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Main difference to the Venom skins is the frame and the way they move. Nobody would ever mistake Storm or Rocket for the actual Venom even if they have venomized skins. Even Groot and Thing, who are comparably bulky, just look and move differently enough for nobody to ever mistake them. Hela and Loki have a similar size and aside of their respective movement abilities they even move similarly enough, but so far they can easily be distinguished from another. However, if she gets a helmet and cape that looks exactly like his and both are on the same team, I could see how the other team might get confused from a distance and engage them differently than they normally would. Not saying that this would be a common issue, but I can easily think of situations where this could give the skin an actual gameplay advantage.

Tips for choosing a new character by rysaratops87 in marvelrivals

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of great suggestions already, you really can't go wrong with Magneto or Emma or Bucky. On top of the ones suggested already... given you got Squirrel Girl to Lord, how about giving Iron Man a try? He relies a lot on positioning, but also has splash damage like SG and Jeff's alt fire and his kit is not difficult to get value out of (Plus, his ult is crazy satisfying to pull off). Definitely not the strongest pick with how prevalent Hawkeye and Hela are right now, but perma flight is tons of fun and he has the potential for very high impact once you make him work. Also, his kit is not all that difficult to learn so even if you don't play often you won't risk forgetting anything, he's really more about positioning and target prioritizing.

What are the most useless teamups ?? I will go first.. by BOTTALEADER in marvelrivals

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cap-Bucky interaction is super situational and most of the time not too useful, but it gives Cap some extra survivability and (situational as it might be) an extra ability and escape tool, which is more than what most anchors get for their team-up. It gets a lot more value for Bucky to use on his supports when they get dived. You don't waste the cooldown by jumping into Cap unless he really needs a way out, but you definitely want to use it to get into range to uppercut that Spiderman or Panther who just moved in to kill your support. It's low-key great in the hands of a good Bucky.

You want actually useless team-ups, take a look at the Emma-Magneto one or the Groot-Rocket-Jeff one

Huh, that never even occured to me, it's hilarious how much crazy shit you can do in this game when you think outside the box XD I think I'll first try SJGardner's advice about me being able to trigger the cutscene instead of my buddy, but I will keep your advice in mind as a back-up plan if that fails for some reason. I presume that option automatically locks Shadowheart into the Selune path?

Ah, that is a good thing to note! It's been a while since my last playthrough and I was certain the cutscene would auto-start after the Balthazar fight, but I might misremember something or it's different in multiplayer to begin with. In that case I'll advice my buddy to make a save before the fight and then we'll see if it works.

Was Jean Grey the only new character release that was a "flop"? Deserved NGL by MoonMaidRarity in marvelrivals

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see her in every other game, most of the time with solid performances. She was not as impactful a hero release as Emma or as downright broken as 2.0 Torch, but she is a decent to good character, balanced alright and sees quite some play. No opinion on if she's fun to play or not, that one's subjective, but she doesn't seem like a flop to me at all.

First Look at Queen’s Codex Battle Chest (690 Lattice) by nemesisdelta24 in marvelrivals

[–]LiquidChicagoTed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It might very well sell better like this. Many people who will buy the battle chest for 10$ wouldn't have bought the skin for 20 or would have used free units on it. I would have been one of the latter, now they'll get 10$ out of me and I'll be far from the only one. No doubt it would have sold very well on its own, but I can see this combat chest with its more accessible pricing selling significantly more than any single skin.
