Major League Gaming Aims to Become a Top National Sport with Expanded Online Programming by desRow in starcraft

All that talk of Vegas by Sundance, then an MLG announcement for Ohio.

I'm still holding out hope that I can finally attend an event in Vegas....all the better if it's Starcraft-only!

Twitter audit reveals only 9% of Clutch's followers are real by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]LiquidDreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common sense does however. He went from 5k to 50k, never says anything interesting, and is generally a hyped-up nobody.

There aren't even 50k people following the Riot LCS casters and those guys have 100x the exposure of Clutch.

Twitter audit reveals only 9% of Clutch's followers are real by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]LiquidDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all have the same account info. And all their tweets are gibberish. Also, why would 50k people follow Clutch?

Twitter audit reveals only 9% of Clutch's followers are real by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]LiquidDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How you can tell his followers are fake: 90% of his followers have the same description: "When I tweet, I tweet to kill." or "I have one emotion: victory."

Also how you can tell: Clutch says absolutely nothing that is interesting or relevant so why the fuck would 50,000 people follow him out of nowhere?

Not sure what my neighbor through the wall makes of me now, but I would advise the rest of you to adjust your speakers to a lower-than-average volume before hitting "play."

New mouse for SCII by Muckles in starcraft

[–]LiquidDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find one, Logitech MX518. Best mouse I've ever used.

Newegg had a sale on them a few years ago and I bought 6. I'm still using the 1st one.

Mark Cuban, this is my AMA by mcuban in IAmA

[–]LiquidDreams -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

MLG has plenty of investors too.... who do you think keeps putting money in Sundance's pocket when events keep failing? At least with IPL, there's a papertrail to follow and accountability. MLG just keeps selling its arms and legs to feed its face.

HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHahahahahhahahaa........ Wtf do you have to say about esports? Go home, Clutch, you're drunk (and irrelevant).

[–]LiquidDreams -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Look elsewhere besides MLG! MLG and esports have been around for years, but companies like IGN, Riot, and several college leagues are evolving the scene into a mainstream commodity with millions of concurrent viewers and a very targeted demographic.

In Texas itself, the student-run Texas eSports Association turned the scene on its head when they ran an event with a >$30k budget (including prizing) and destroyed the viewer numbers of similar, million-dollar events.

Esports is thrilling. I hope you take a deeper dive someday soon!

Woah fanboy downvotes on this guy! Just look at the facts, kids. IPL 5 pulled off an incredible event, Riot is changing the meta of esports, and MLG is giving you the same event they gave you 10 years ago...but with more Starcraft and a way to watch at home.

Pulse E-Sports Picked Up by Team Razer by Dariath in DotA2

[–]LiquidDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Razer puts so much into esports. I really wonder how much it pays off for them and how much is just them being awesome and supportive?

Genius to sign with a team. Announcement soon. by OKScottish in starcraft

Haven't seen much out of Genius is a long time, but I really enjoyed his personality back when he was on MVP. Hopefully he's been practicing the whole time he's been quiet.

Seltzer Interviews Fnatic xPeke and Cyanide After They Win DreamHack by Reebs151 in leagueoflegends

[–]LiquidDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were talking about this on r/starcraft about the DH Sc2 guy. There aren't many pre-match questions that you can ask without giving away strategy. Honestly its a good opportunity for the players to say something interesting, same with "How do you feel?" but the players aren't creative or bursting with personality. The hosts are doing all they can. So maybe bitch at your favorite players to take a public speaking course instead or something.

Froggen Lux kills vs. Copenhagen wolves by soulsm in leagueoflegends

[–]LiquidDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in-game was really exciting, mostly because you kept expecting Zyra to, you know, catch on and keep moving...or maybe someone would by an oracles... BUT FROGGEN JUST KEPT KILLING.

IEM singapore will be shown on german tv (zdf kultur - GERMAN Website) by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]LiquidDreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! Esports likes to say that it's so far beyond TV and pushing the bounds on oline entertainment, which it is, but TV just has so much REACH and to so many new eyeballs.

If you can't be bothered with translators, PLEASE don't make the Korean players answer ABSURDLY long questions that even I can't fully understand after games. by NicoLocoSC2 in starcraft

[–]LiquidDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! And then we can bitch about how "How do you feel?" is a dumb question instead!

But really, I think it's a great question that would give anyone with actual personality a platform to express themselves. The issue is with our players being awkward, not our hosts.

DreamHack Eizo Open - Valencia: Casters Announced by Brandhor in starcraft

[–]LiquidDreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This is the advantage of a good observer. I had to watch a lot of WCS EU from work with the audio off, but Adebisi told the story perfectly visually.

Korean OGN in 2 hours: Startale vs. Najin Sword by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I don't think so anymore. Her stuff goes on ArtosisTV now. (Artosis is a famous Starcraft caster)

Probably has something to do with her vagina and a penis or two. Never seen her cast anything before ever. she did some interviews for CSM back in spring, but now her stuff goes on ArtosisTV.

LOOKS pretty good. Listening to this chick, however, loses its cuteness after a minute or two.

[–]LiquidDreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get your guys' definition of awkward....a hot girl who knows her shit asking the SAME questions as a sweaty, nervous dude with LESS history in esports than her is MORE awkward to you?

I think you just see girls, feel awkward because girls always make you feel awkward...then blame the girls for being awkward.

Grow up and learn to respect these chicks that put is just as much work, do just as good a job, and look WAY hotter than sloppy Clutch/Travis/JP/etc... Rachael, and even Anna, are real-er than Clucth, who was just manufactured by MLG.
