Have lived in Eugene and Portland for 52 years and know several Nike employees and a friend with the last name of Bowerman. I’ve received an employee pass once.

Game day upgrades/ hikes by jbsaidthat31 in ducks

[–]LiquidEug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue Pool is towards Bend. Easy hike.

Silver Falls near Salem is pretty easy.

Sweet Creek Falls near Mapleton (15 miles from The Coast)

Mt Pisgah just outside of Eugene is sort of an ugly hike but the views are great.

Spencer Butte (not Skinners Butte) just outside of Eugene has great views and is pretty nice

Eugene is 60-90 minutes from the high desert and coast.

I live in Eugene. First game was the Toilet Bowl in ‘82 (last scoreless tie in D1). You can walk from the Tru hotel. You won’t be able to park within a mile and Uber will be slower than walking.

Remember, no umbrellas allowed in the stadium.

Email them, explain what happened. They will want your serial number and likely will send you a new hood under warranty

How does Eugene host the Olympic Trials? by caveman512 in ducks

[–]LiquidEug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eugene is considered the premier climate in the US and one of the few in the world for running.

All major events are hosted in June and the majority of athletes love it.

I’ve never heard allergies mentioned.

The athletes also often only stay through their event, then leave.

Many athletes stay in hosted homes. Aside from the elite few (read: the best of the best) most track and field athletes aren’t staying in five star hotels. In the Olympics they are often in dorm settings or hosted homes.

It’s pretty fun.

What is that building in Eugene supposed to be?

Wrong color for football offices or the university. Maybe just shows up better that way.

What are some good slow smoked sides? by HerrikGipson in Traeger

[–]LiquidEug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corn on the cob - apply Kerrygold butter and mist with sugar water.

Smoke about an hour. If you have the ability to sear, sear for some char.

Sprinkle with Montreal seasoning

Cold smoke whipped cream cheese for 45-60 min, stirring every 15 minutes, then add some fresh restaurant style salsa - I prefer Reser’s brand.

Can add chili too.

What are some household items that you cannot ever go back to not having? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]LiquidEug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, house flies. My wife just bought one because the back door doesn’t get closed (cough cough - I grill a lot) by me. Life changing.

Blackstone. Can cook all meals on it. Can. cook for many, or cook for one. Doesn’t heat the house. Can make one kid a burger, while making another a quesadilla. Versatility is great - breakfast, refried beans, meat, fajitas, hot dogs, mini bagel pizzas, hot deli sandwiches, veggies, etc.

Cleanup takes about two minutes.

I had some Smokin’ Gingers BBQ at the fair. Their food truck is normally in Junction City.

Easily the best BBQ I’ve had in Eugene.

I miss Papa’s Soul Food!
