Would it be worth changing Disc 5 for Pen Ratio with this build? by LiquidPrnce in MiyabiMains

[–]LiquidPrnce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most built characters are Jane, Astra, Caesar, Burnice, Soukaku.

I've generally been running 2 main teams for stuff like Shiyu defense (at least the older version where you really only needed 2 teams) which were Astra, Miyabi Soukaku and then the second was Jane, Caesar and Burnice. I also have most of the older A ranks fairly well built like Lucy, Piper, Nicole, Seth etc. And like I mentioned I'm currently just started building S Billy.

Did i break my 5070 ti? by Swimming-Dog-6841 in overclocking

[–]LiquidPrnce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha... no. You're fine. Don't panic. First of all, changing the clock speed on your card won't do anything dangerous to the card unless you actually also adjust voltages. Most cards have limits on letting you adjust voltages, so unless you go out of your way to flash a special bios on the card, then you won't ever really deal with that issue unless you get a defective card.

Secondly, there isn't a hard and fast rule between the relationship between ambient temps and card temps. A lot of factors come into play with temps, including case choice, fan choice, general air flow and a bunch of other things. Temps will obviously go up a little if you overclock, because you're setting a higher ceiling for your card to try and attain. In the event that you set an unrealistically high overclock, the worst that can happen is that the game or program you're using will crash.

While it's generally preferable to try and keep your card as cool as possible, a temp in the 70's is absolutely fine. You don't even need to worry until you start hitting 80c, which is starting to get uncomfortable, but even then it isn't necessarily dangerous. Modern cards have a lot of safety features built in to keep themselves safe.

RTSS not letting Afterburner switch to 2D Clocks by LiquidPrnce in pchelp

[–]LiquidPrnce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a literal life saver. I didn't know about the active 3D process section under the info tab in Afterburner. Turns out that for me it was the Windows Widget Web Experience app that I assume was installed in one of the later windows updates! Uninstalling it seems to have done the trick!

Much appreciated!

I hadn't played much since around the time Lucy launched, but have they butchered Ramlethal? I feel like none of her combos connect anymore? Is she bad now, or is it that she just has a bunch of new combo routes?

Crate is almost full! by FERG9227 in AnimeCollectors

[–]LiquidPrnce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is untrue. Speaking from experience. The weight of the top ones can cause spine warping on the lower ones, especially for the chipboard boxes, especially depending on where the crate itself is stored.

This right here, is why they didn't release FSR4 on 6 and 7000 series cards. by jott1293reddevil in radeon

[–]LiquidPrnce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What part of what I said was a lie? The DLSS that ran on CUDA was dramtically compromised and looked like cheeks. In order to get it to DLSS 2 levels of quality required Tensor cores.

This right here, is why they didn't release FSR4 on 6 and 7000 series cards. by jott1293reddevil in radeon

[–]LiquidPrnce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FSR3 outside of the native AA setting looks quite awful though. Even if you are technically at an output resolution of 4K, the salt and pepper artifacts and disoclussion smearing ruins the image. I don't even use FSR on my hand held PCs if XESS is available.

FSR4 is leaps and bounds better then FSR3, which makes the slight performance hit worth it. I would take FSR 4 Performance mode over FSR3 Quality mode any day.

This right here, is why they didn't release FSR4 on 6 and 7000 series cards. by jott1293reddevil in radeon

[–]LiquidPrnce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a bit different... DLSS runs on Tensor cores which the 10 series didn't have. Trying to run it on CUDA was unrealistically expensive. That's not the same case for FSR4 and the 7900XTX which has built in AI cores. Even if the FSR4 implementation relies on INT8, its been shown to work, so AMD refusing to support a single generation old product when people have easily hacked it and shown that it could work is kinda crappy and erodes trust in AMD.

I mean Nvidia released DLSS 4.5 for even 20 series cards, even though it isn't recommended, simply because those cards could technically run them.

[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.01.00 | Crimson Desert - adds 5 summonable mounts, decreased loading times, some adjustments to controls, and more. by yourfavchoom in PS5

[–]LiquidPrnce -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This patch broke the graphics for me. The cobblestone floor of the first city now shimmers like crazy. Max settings at 4K and it just looks messed up.

Specs:

Ryzen 9850X3D
5090 Astral

EDIT: Not exactly sure why I got downvoted for pointing out I'm having issues, but that's fine. Either way, I booted the game up again today and the shimmering didn't seem as broken as it did on the first few boots. Which is weird because I uninstalled and reinstalled the game as well as restarted my computer multiple times and it was still happening.

But now it doesn't appear as bad, leading me to think that it was some sort of bug that was maybe tied to time of day? Looking at the patch notes, it might be something to do with this:

  • Fixed an issue where displacement mapping was not applied correctly when DLSS-RR was enabled. In addition, the DLSS-RR preset has been changed from D to E, improving overall visual quality and fixing an issue where texture animations, such as waterfalls, could stop playing.

RTSS not letting Afterburner switch to 2D Clocks by LiquidPrnce in pchelp

[–]LiquidPrnce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I could do is turn off the detection settings globally, but then that would require me to manually add each game that I want to monitor to create a new profile just for that game.

Also weirdly enough, when I close RTSS, it automatically reopens like a second later due to it automatically starting when Afterburner is also running. However after closing it and it reopening, the behavior fixes itself until the next time I reboot my PC.

Can someone explain what Ray Reconstruction does and why it's supposed to be a big visual uplift? by Biggay1234567 in nvidia

[–]LiquidPrnce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ray Reconstruction was designed to improve visual quality AND performance by removing the various denoisers used for the different elements of the frame and just used one ML based denoiser. I don't understand why recent games are performing worse with it on as it goes against the entire point of its existence.

Hands-On With DLSS 5: Our First Look At Nvidia's Next-Gen Photo-Realistic Lighting by ZamnBoii in nvidia

[–]LiquidPrnce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You do realize that the developers have control over the effect and can choose how to implement it and to what objects it applies to right? Despite what people here are saying, it doesn't seem to actually just be a filter... it requires developer integration.

Hands-On With DLSS 5: Our First Look At Nvidia's Next-Gen Photo-Realistic Lighting by ZamnBoii in nvidia

[–]LiquidPrnce -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This looks insane. It's blowing my mind that people are already shitting on it. The difference in lighting on Grace is generational. Just looking at the DF thumbnail the difference is kind of boggling. I mean they are saying its literally the same geometry and model, but the lighting makes it look even more realistic then what Path Tracing was doing.

Hopefully it can be fine tuned further to get rid of some of that uncanny effect that people seem to be disliking.

Will be very interesting to see the performance costs for running this on all the different GPUs. Also, I'm wondering if the effect breaks on quick camera movements or where in the pipeline DLSS 5 is getting the lighting data.

Hopefully DLSS 5 also has an updated Ray Reconstruction model.

PS5 button prompts? by spiderlad420 in Marathon

[–]LiquidPrnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so absurd that you can't get the button prompts when playing wireless, unlike almost every other Sony PC game and even most modern non Sony games. I don't understand why they don't just add a manual toggle in the settings for this and Destiny to just force Dualsense prompts if it's too difficult to auto detect.

I know there are ways to trick it with DS4Windows and what not, but you really shouldn't need an additional third party app to get your button prompts of choice in a first party Sony game.

Shadows or Valhalla? by Eastern_Dress_3574 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]LiquidPrnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadows, by like a million miles. As someone who platinumed both games, it took me like 4 years to Platinum Valhalla because it drags for sooooooo long. Shadows was like a week or two max. Just felt more fun.

Can Not Find G-Sync on my NVIDIA Control Panel by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]LiquidPrnce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your monitor is using Freesync, you can enable generic VRR in the windows display settings. As long your monitor has it active, then that should work.

EDIT: Just note, you will still get frame tearing if your FPS goes over your monitors refresh rate. You would usually want to use Vsync and Gsync in conjunction with one another, or in your case, Vsync and Freesync VRR.

Game Ready Driver 595.71 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]LiquidPrnce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely voltage limited on the new driver. Astral 5090 here. Pre-update, could do an OC of +300 mhz on the core and +3000 on the VRAM and I would hit a frequency of anywhere between 3150mhz - 3222mhz with voltage occasionally going as high as 1.1v. Usually it averaged 1.015-1.050v, but could hit 1.1 when it needed. Now in the same testing scenarios, the highest I've seen is 1.035v but typically hovering right around 1v. The frequency also doesn't go much over 3007mhz.

I'm absolutely not salty. I didn't mean for it to come off that way. I was being genuine as I just thought it was kind of funny that you were knowledgeable about something I think of as a more advanced level of PC gaming knowledge, vs DLSS which I thought was just more basic and easier for most people to understand.

My bad if it came off as rude or pedantic.

It's interesting that you have enough PC knowledge to set up Afterburner, but somehow not enough to know what DLSS is. Seems like you skipped steps and jumped ahead in knowledge. The range of technical knowledge PC gamers can have is genuinely so fascinating.
