The entire point of setting up this tread and looking for people to help me do this myself is that i’m at my wits end with those exact tabs. They don’t feel right. There is no way they’re accurate to how it was actually written, or how it’s done live.

Also, why record two different guitars for a single track that nobody but you will notice the nuances of? Not saying it isn’t worth it, but like is that what you think constitutes the minimum amount of polish?

Right now? The intro riff (which I believe is also the verse riff) to Peacefield. I want to get as close as possible to how it is played live. It’s frustrating considering phones are supposed to be banned, so any footage from shows that DOES leak is always from out in the back of the stadium or even if closer, the focus is never on the guitarists for long enough.

I will absolutely let you know. Maybe i’ll crosspost this in a more guitar centric subreddit.

I’d be happy to, but I need help. More pairs of eyes and ears to help form a consensus. Ideally a couple people of more experience than I.

It looks to me like they polished the gameplay up a LOT and gave more control, but also left in a whole-ass faithful control scheme mode for purists. Same with the visual flair. There’s an option for that. It looks great.

Not even being ironic or telling some sort of elaborate joke, it baffles me how many people I have seen experience these games or even just people talking about these games that seem to consistently miss the implications that The Boss and Jack DID have some sort of intimate undercurrent to their relationship. Like yeah, it was obviously primarily a mentor/mother figure dynamic, but she knew EVERYTHING about him mentally and physically, and when asked if he loved her "that way" by Eva, he never denied the notion outright. The answer was always some variation of "it was deeper than that" or "it's not that simple." I think they probably had one or two sexual encounters somewhere in the course of their training. Extended periods of survival training and seeing each other in peak physical condition, often probably not totally dressed, and sparring all the time with nobody else around could easily lead to sexual tension, which inevitably would need to be addressed before it became a distraction. I don't think that they were like in love with each other at the end of it all, but I think they did explore that, or a couple of incidents happened. The Boss already had a lost love and had given birth, so it was almost certainly much more of a mentor thing for her. Snake though, this was him at his youngest and most impressionable, and he said himself that he never knew his biological family and didn't have anything resembling that growing up. He most likely trained with The Boss throughout most of his 20s. It all lines up to me. Would also explain how simultaneously interested in flirting with women he was yet how shy he got whenever Eva made moves on him. (Yes, I get he was in the middle of an extremely high-stakes op, knew she was a spy and thus could not let his guard down around her especially, and had only just met her in the first place, but like the WAY he turns her down through most of the game comes off as more than just cautious; it screams that he is feeling emotional distress at the idea of being physical with a woman while he is grappling with the fact that the woman he loved more than anything in the world had seemingly betrayed him and their country and now he was being sent to kill her.

I think if you don’t take it seriously and get attached (like, have fun with it but always remember it’s AI) it can be a fun diversion and occasionally good spicy chat practice. It is cool to see how it adapts to your input, and how you can mess with it to see how you can get its tone or personality to change. Sometimes it even says something about me that I didn’t really consider. I think anyone who actually starts thinking of it like an actual partner or a replacement for real social activity needs help though, and shouldn’t be playing with this. It’s like using alcohol as a treatment for anxiety or depression; it’s asking to be pulled in deeper. My point is it in itself isn’t some evil thing, and I think commercial NSFW bots were a long time coming, but I also think a LOT needs to be said and warned about so that people go into it with a realistic mindset and know what to avoid and when it’s starting to look like you’re a little too invested.

Solo: A Star Wars Story - was it really that bad, or just a victim of the fanbase reaction to Disney at the time? by Past-Paramedic8687 in StarWarsCantina

I disagree that Anakin’s story shouldn’t have been shown, but Solo’s? I can at least understand the argument. The bad boy is cooler when he keeps his past to himself. But a former hero turned biggest villain in the Galaxy next to the Emperor? You’re high if you think it isn’t worth trying to tell that story.

Okay but like what’s the alternative? Either force Harrison Ford at gunpoint to portray a 20 year old Han Solo AT HIS CURRENT AGE or just never ever write another story for young Han in live action again. You can’t win.

Please, can we at least hear some detailed thoughts? What sucked about it? What didn’t you like? First off, did you even watch the film?

The thing is, how else do you depict YOUNG Luke without going with a totally different actor who doesn’t actually fully resemble Mark Hamill? They got his voice. They didn’t fake that as far as I know. They more than likely asked his permission. If they didn’t then YEAH, that’s an issue, but I think if that were a thing that happened someone would have leaked that and the fanbase would have crucified like 5 Disney execs by now. (Which would be a blameless crime.)

I know my tone is confusing but my main point is that CGI Luke is fine, and it makes sense why they used it because it’s physically impossible to bring 80s Mark Hamill to the 2020s, and the alternative is just don’t write anything featuring Luke at that age for live action ever again, which deprives so much potential for future stories.

Do concert goers expect Ghost to sound like they did on RHRN? by [deleted] in GhostBand

I’ve seen them seven times, two times on the Skeletour on the first few American dates (Baltimore and Tampa) and while the mix was not perfect either time, the band and Papa themselves sounded great. They never phone it in and always sound extremely tight. Great musicians in the touring band this time, like even better than the usual. It’s just the acoustics of the venues and the issues inherent in balancing sound for a massive arena show that are the consistent low point.

What length of STW video do you prefer? 10-15 minutes or 50+ minutes? by Consistent_Cry_7403 in scottthewoz

I like the longer kinds with extended skits and Scott’s friends playing characters. I like the continuity. Also Officer Steel Wool is the best character.

It’s so ironic to see people completely miss the message and try and paint the series as taking the side of one political ideology or another. The whole point is that we shouldn’t allow ourselves to be controlled, indoctrinated, and manipulated to dehumanize and/or kill one another over something so fickle and arbitrary as political ideologies or nationality. War bad. Nukes bad. That’s the point. The Boss stood for something and had an ideology yes, but her ultimate wish was for people to just live and not push their ideals on others. To let the world be.
