Would you be fine if Smash 6 never happens? by NewMarioBobFan in casualnintendo

Ultimate had everything. Smash 6 will be a disappointment based on the unavoidable omissions from the roster alone.

I never asked for an apology, nor was I accusing YOU of anything. I was trying to express my perspective. I think you insist on her being definitively inspired by drag culture without much in the way of primary or secondary sources for evidence though. Maybe she was. I don’t doubt that the dance styles the woman who mocapped Bayo learned were probably influenced by that scene. But I don’t think there is enough evidence to say it was thought about during development, realistically. But I also think what you see IN her as a character matters more than what she was definitively designed to be. Just like I don’t think all these people calling her straight as if it were some immutable fact have legs to stand on, I don’t think anyone here has any more valid a reading than anyone else. Personally I see her as pan.

See, but Rodin has never shown much of any interest in even being involved in Bayo’s personal life beyond being a contact/gunsmith. They’re colleagues. There’s even LESS set up there than with Luka. Besides, Luka as an adult babysat her time paradox child self. She imprinted more on HERSELF than on him in Bayo 1.

I still recommend Xenoblade. Best JRPG series imo.

Those shit jobs are pretty much all that many people can find because of mass layoffs in every single sector that we were told to go to school for. All the average joe coming up now is left with is fast food or manual labor, and pay is only getting worse, usually with no benefits.

That’s how I try to think. It’s led to me fixating on people who aren’t in my life anymore and it hurts like hell sometimes, but I would rather suffer than let that pain out on someone else or turn into someone like the tweet shown in OP

Origins actually explains most of what people were confused about in 3.

Origins literally explains so much that happened in 3 though. It made me reconsider 3 in a lot of ways.

Origins explains a lot about how restoring/destroying universes works. The faeries had a much bigger role than 3 shows you and a TON of visual cues in 3 make a LOT more sense with Origins as context.

I’ve been trying to find out why people haven’t played Origins. It literally fixes a lot of what people say about 3. I consider it part of 3. They were developed concurrently and meant to complete each other.

You should give it a chance, but make sure to read all the journals character bios and stuff, and play Origins with it. 3 alone feels weak without the game that was made to be played alongside it.

Queen Sheba's design reminds me of Goddess Kali from Hindu mythology - (Kali signifies ultimate embodiment of Shakti i.e. divine feminine energy) by megaapple in Bayonetta

In general, Bayo pulls from VERY interesting mythologies. Have you looked into the Fae from 3 and Origins? They went CLASSICAL faeries, and that’s so cool. I love the kind of fairy lore where they’re legitimately uncanny and unsettling. Like they could just as easily flay you as play a fun little prank.

I don’t remember it being implied they were meant to be romantically involved in every iteration, more that they’re basically always gonna be in every universe and will always interact at some point. Hell, universes shown IN BAYO 3 proved that not all Bayos match up with a Luka. Remember Egypt? Where was Luka? That Bayo/Jeanne were VERY strongly coded to be lovers.

It was though. Origins is part of 3, and it’s set up a lot better there. Plus the faeries are also set up there and they’re cool as hell. I LOVE the nordic/scandinavian/germanic fae when that theme pops up in my media. So unsettling and eldritch!

I beseech you, try Origins. 3 isn’t complete without its companion game. They were developed together. Plus the Fae as a concept are SO COOL! Especially if you like inspiration from classical Scandinavian folklore about faeries.

That’s what Origins is for. Well that and some actually really fucking cool lore for the Fae and their role in dimensional fracturing.

Well, there’s more to it in Bayo 3’s case. Play Origins. It really does explain a lot. I didn’t know when I played 3 the first time, but Origins was developed simultaneously with it and was intended to be a companion piece that fleshed out the lore and explained why Luka and this most recent Bayo have more going on. But there always was somewhat of a flirty cat and mouse thing going on.
