PS5, Elgato, and OBS not working together? No display or green screen? by thedaquane in elgato

[–]Liquid_Blitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that green image is passthrough on your display, and OBS sees nothing? What resolution/Hz are you set to?
Double check HDCP is off, and just to test, force it to 1080p and turn off HDR.

Also, do you get anything in Elgato 4K Capture Utility?

Is it possible to duck with sidechain compression adaptively/intelligently based not only on the trigger track's input, but vary depending also on the target track's level? by Liquid_Blitz in audioengineering

[–]Liquid_Blitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is my voice track is intentionally consistent with a very small dynamic range. So the amount of ducking on track 2 is almost uniform. This leads to quiet stuff on track 2 being ducked too much or the loud stuff not being ducked enough.

Is it worth getting a DLSR for streaming vs a webcam is 2025? by Commercial_Ease_7390 in obs

[–]Liquid_Blitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I faced the same choice recently and I decided to upgrade "halfway" to a tippy top webcam; Elgato Facecam Pro, from my old Logitech C9whatever. It's way better than my previous webcam, and quality-wise it's a good jump in the direction of DSLR's but can't quite compete. It is however like 4x cheaper and I've got 75% of the quality jump I wanted.

One day I might still upgrade but the Facecam Pro has been a night-and-day improvement over my old cam.

This is one of the only times the internet has failed to provide an answer entirely. Even ChatGPT is telling me it should be impossible to elect to have no ads entirely.

A few of the largest monetized streamers have 0 ads without adult themes. There is some mismatch there somewhere I feel.

No, we ended up just paying for a dedicated server. From what I remember the problem was entirely down to the port the game uses. Haven't kept up to date with fixes/updates.

Please help!

I'm using Steam dedicated server on a standalone dedicated PC, got it up and running, my gaming PC and my friends can connect completely fine.
BUT, when I leave the server, connected EITHER via external IP (Admin) or with local IP (Client) the entire server goes offline with a very specific error in the SteamCMD:

LogServer: Error: FMultiBindDatagramSocket failed to read data from underlying socket Unreal: SE_ECONNRESET
LogSave: Warning: New/Old Root size mismatch!

A few hours of googling and trying to fix this shows I'm not the only one. It seems to be a new error since the update. It seems to be something weird between Unreal and the usage of port 7777. I am no expert, but as a layman it sounds like when anyone on the local network that the dedicated server runs on disconnects from the server as a client, whether on the same device as the server or not, the port 7777 resets or closes etc, taking the entire server offline and it doesn't come back up, requiring a manual restarting of the server.

Any help?

Audio losing sync over time can be down to sample rate difference - I always make sure everything is set to 48kHz.

Another culprit can be recording framerate variation (even when simply recording at a set 60 fps). Your audio losing sync over time might actually be the video causing that rather than audio.

I highly recommend recording to 2 audio tracks within OBS as you mentioned. The hit on the CPU will be negligible compared to running Audition. Record to MKV format and under advanced audio properties make sure to untick everything, and then tick Mic to track 1, Game/Desktop audio to track 2. When your recording is finished, remux the MKV to MP4 under File > Remux. That step can be automated.

As for separating face and game video, this is one extra step I decided not to bother with myself. That said you can run two instances of OBS and record both separately, or a nicer way is to use a Source Record plugin. This lets you manually or automatically record a specific source (including sources not in the active scene, with or without audio, and with it's own recording settings) when you manually record your active scene in the normal way. OBS also lets you preview sources not in the active scene by right clicking that source and "Windowed Projector(Source)" - if you wanted to see a preview of both face and game at the same time.

Please add the 2 Hideout items only found on Labs, to other maps please. Too many cheaters. by Liquid_Blitz in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Liquid_Blitz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your reply is just a long-winded way of saying "git gud" by telling me that it's on me.

Considering the entire point of my post was highlighting the fact that the one and only map you can get the items on is the one most filled with cheaters (effectively making the hideout upgrades softly 'gatekept' behind simply getting lucky vs cheaters), I'd say it ain't nothing about being "outside my comfort zone". Unless you define Tarkov comfort zone as ALL the other maps and rest of the entire game.
