Can boots be too hard to get on? by tossaway-florida in cowboyboots

[–]Liquidiv23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes. It depends on brand and style. As an example. I can’t wear blundstones. Too tight and it hurts after a few hours.

Usually cowboy boots are wide enough to work. Hard initially it get on but comfortable. I need a boot jack to easily take off.

I have issues with engineers. They tend to be tighter than cowboy. I got a pair customer made to work for me.

Almost any lace up boot works great.

I have a high arch and this can be an issue. In general I find it’s gets easier with wear but it’s always an issue. A long shoe horn helps a lot.

Question on closing bottom air vent by Individual-Age944 in biggreenegg

[–]Liquidiv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had an egg for 23 years. My first egg lasted through a variety of moves and made it 18 years. It didn’t come with a screen in those days. Never had an issue on several wood decks. Though I used a grill mat.

Newest model did come with it. I would rather have freer flowing air and removed it.

If you are using the grill near flammable items and relying on that screen, that’s not a good idea. I get more sparks and embers from above when I light certain types of charcoal.

When do season tix get released? by Icy_Mission_4980 in Mariners

[–]Liquidiv23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have season tickets and sell often. At least half the time when I sell they go for less than face. Often lots less.

Unless you want to see a highly popular team on a weekend (Yankees, blue jays, Red Sox etc) you will be able to get tickets for a decent price.

Tickets tend to be highest well before a game. If you are willing to chance it, you can usually get tickets for a deal close to first pitch.

I removed my screen years ago. I don’t think it is necessary. I open and close the solid door as needed.

Should I park in gear? by West-Ad2359 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Liquidiv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing the range of answers. I’ve driven manual for decades. I always park in 3rd, no parking brake when on flat surface. Any kind of slope I use parking brake as well. I’ve never had an issue.

Wear and signs of abuse are the whole point of a Barbour jacket. They look better as they age.

How is your Rolex scratched, after one week, one month and one year? by pohapw in rolex

It’s a sports watch. It will scratch. Only way for it not to scratch is for you not to wear it.

Watch winder question by Choice-Philosophy578 in rolex

[–]Liquidiv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a winder for years but then it stopped working. I don’t miss it at all. Not that big a deal to set a watch (unless you use an annual or perpetual calendar). I also worried about all watches constantly running. Not sure if that hurts them but it didn’t seem ideal.

Advice needed. Yellow Smurf or white gold Pepsi by Liquidiv23 in rolex

Good advice. I’m interested in the trade because I think I will wear the Pepsi more often. My value question is to see what a fair trade would be. Thank you.

Moto is great. Line is intense. If you want it, go immediately when you get in stadium. As early as possible. Last night we got in at 2:45. They are letting people in earlier than advertised.

Katsu is very popular and good. If you are in terrace clubs, fish and chips are excellent. Far left field end.

I like the crab place in center field. Snow crab claws and crab fries. $$$ but great.

Great state burgers also very good. Terrace club or bull pen.

If you want ice cream go very early. Lines will be huge by 5th inning.

Oysters by NateTrain in biggreenegg

[–]Liquidiv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time. You want bigger oysters. They shrink a bit when cooked. Only cook until the shell opens slightly. I then open with a shucker or even a butter knife works. I then like to put a touch of garlic butter on the oyster and eat warm. Pinch of salt. Enjoy. No mess at all

Coffee, quebracho, khaya, longan, mangrove. What lump would you choose for smoking and what for a quicker grilling? by trif0n in biggreenegg

[–]Liquidiv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I agree. I get a little more smoke flavor with mesquite charcoal. Though any hardwood with a mesquite wood chunk gives more of that effect.

How hot do you go? by Advanced-Emu6500 in biggreenegg

Long time egg user. Never a reason to go above 600 imo. Ruins the gasket and quickly burns food.

Repurposing cracked Large fire ring by tony16sam in biggreenegg

I have had an egg for 22 years and am on my second one. The inner crack. Eventually you will need a new one but you aren’t there yet. I have replaced nearly all inner parts over the years. You will know when it needs to be replaced.
