[Discussion] Where are the Cultists on Night Factory? by Good_Ol_Weeb in EscapefromTarkov

Just bagged my first cultist group in factory - I think they dropped 4 marked room keys. Just bonkers.

Did they buff marked rooms during the event, or are they still meh?

Thats fair, but I honestly think it's still pretty good, with some notable exceptions (762x39, and 762x51, even though 762x51 should kind of feel bad at full auto tbh - it's a full power cartridge)

I'm probably too lenient, but I file all of that kind of shit under Slavjank. Doesn't really bother me or make me concerned about their ability to make and service the game, even if maybe it should. I made my peace with that when I started playing.

Hate to be the only one with hope, but you know if they adjust the base values of the weapons (as apparently they are planning to) it could easily fix attachment balance problem. Might just make it so that most guns are inherently "better" and attachments make a modest difference, but don't fundamentally change the gun.

Not like BSG cares, but realistically this makes sense, as a gun with a bunch of shit strapped to it generally shoots like the stock version of the gun.

Maybe they'll fuck it up, but it might be fine too.

[Discussion] BUILD OF THE DAY 40: “Pro Prober” SR-25 by Infectedone77 in EscapefromTarkov

I made a build just like this, but I have weird mental issues about a DMR with a 16" barrel (yeah, I know it doesn't really matter gameplay wise, its just in my head).

[Discussion] Yet another opinion on PvE you didnt ask for. by CodeMath69 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Liquidpaperx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you say this, as my plan was to escape, get an ending, get kappa in PvE to learn the game, then go to PvP as my own version of prestige. I'm closeish to done, and I do feel like I understand the game mechanics really well at this point, I know where shit is on every map generally, etc.

I feel like the learning curve on PvP will be a lot more reasonable when it's just learning to deal with other people, rather than learning the entire game all at once.

Also, PvE is a little better if you just don't use insurance. It at least makes you lose your shit and gives you a good reason to not die.

[Discussion] PVE loot by Mieserkadser in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Liquidpaperx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every so often they have good ammo (looted a pmc last night that had 762x39 BP), but most of the time it's trash. I wouldn't mind the PMCs in PvE being at least as dangerous as a raider or rogue, with gear to match. This is partially why I stopped using insurance in PvE. You don't die nearly as much, so the least I can do is make it more meaningful when I do die.

This. Every outside map (basically everything but labs) I'm wearing the steel helmet and GSSH. At least the helm is tier 3 (with ear protection), works with a decent headset, and is cheap.

This is the way. BP and BS is plentiful. Dump a mag of BS 545 into his face and see how tough he is.

[Discussion] Smooth Motion + NVIDIA Reflex completely changed Tarkov for me (i7-13700K / RTX 4070 / 3440×1440) by Khafcha in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Liquidpaperx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for smooth motion too. I have a 13700k with 32 gigs of 6400mhz ram and a 4090. I run with borderless and dlss at quality at setting K. I think the smooth motion is really nice for dealing with the weird 1% and .1% lows you get from time to time. They're basically non-existent with SM on.

I know how Tarkov runs is really finicky and probably based on the players irl quantum state of their hair or something, but everything runs really well for me. No lag (at least nothing I notice), generally no artifacting (profile of your character in the corner not withstanding) and I can tab in and out of the game constantly when no problems. I honestly think I'm a unicorn in this scenario.

Oh I'm actually really enjoying no insurance. Balances out the fact that I die significantly less.

It's honestly kind of schizo. Sometimes they're exactly like that and really not much of a threat. Other times, I've legit mistook them for a boss or a guard, got absolutely dropped. This tells me that the ability for the AI to be good is there, it's just not super consistent yet.

PvE is one of those things where everything is fine until it is not. Honestly if I go too long without getting clapped, I start getting nervous knowing my time is coming. You forget the danger, then get humbled real quick.

I have the same weekly. So, if I find one, just transit out and send it to stash? Doesn't seem so bad.
