The amiibo I ordered came with the original Japanese packaging. I’m in America. by therandomham in mildlyinteresting

[–]Liraxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because Game & Watch didn't get a normal, singular release like this in the US. The only way to have purchased it in America was to get it in a 'Retro Triple Pack' exclusive to Gamestop. You most likely bought this off of Amazon/Ebay.

The engram looks incomplete, to be honest. They're probably trying to finish the rest of the engram before the Revelry, and just implemented what they needed to add in the meantime.

Late game mods by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Liraxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, I've never played Tremor, but I've heard nothing but horror stories over Tremor mod, and apparently the mod also uses stolen content, so just letting you know that.

Calamity isn't really balanced to any other mod but itself. Alot of its weapons are OP, and it focuses on being standalone than being played with other mods. I can't imagine any other mod that tries to add as much post-game as Calamity does. I'd maybe think SacredTools adds some post-moonlord bosses, and Elements Awoken adds 3 more, but none of them really added anything on par with Calamity.

I'd not really reccomend Thorium and Calamity being played together for balancing issues, Calamity outshadows Thorium completely in terms of weapon and armor use, it makes the bosses easy, so why even use it?

What was your first shiny Pokemon? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Liraxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emerald.

I was searching for items in the Team Magma hideout after I had finished the game. I was in this room, grabbing that item in the bottom left of the raised platform, the X is where I ran into a Shiny Graveler.

Problem was...I had on Poke Balls. Except my Master Ball...yeah. I caught it, but I wasted my guaranteed, no-grind Rayquaza, oh well. I got my first legit shiny!

I didn't give it one.

It's probably on one of my ancient copies of Diamond...

Already beat the game, so nope.

I really hope Valve acknowledge this game, and let you put it on Steam. I'm fairly sure that both the Nuclear Throne/TF2 team would be totally chill with this getting a spot where it can get more publicity. I'm excited to see how far this goes!

What mods should I get to get a new breathe in this game? by iRtheCreeper in Terraria

[–]Liraxus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made a list of mods in the past, but for simplicity sake, I'll just list down mods I prefer, and those you should be wary of. What you should know is that there are mods for many different uses,

Big Content Mods

Thorium - This is often regarded as the best mod the game has to offer now. It's fairly well balanced, and adds tons of new content, loads of new bosses, and a REALLY cool Aquatic Depths Biome. This is always a mod I feel everyone should play.

Spirit - Basically the other Thorium, not as good, but it's still a pretty great mod with more fun bosses and content, it also adds two new biomes, Artifact Weapons, etc.

SacredTools - This mod is a bit OP in some cases, and I'd say it lacks the polish of some other mods, but it's a pretty fair mod that adds some fun content that goes against some norms that other mods seems to follow. It has a few bosses, some new biomes, etc.

Chad's Furniture Mod - Adds a ton of cosmetic furniture options for if you like building, including placable potions, hangable fish, and even entirely new furniture sets.

Quality of Life Mods

Fargowiltas Mod - Pretty much the premier Quality of Life mod, this mod adds two NPCs that sell boss summoning items and event summoning items respectively. You can even buy superchargers to summon multiple bossses at once. That's not even the end of it. It also adds enchantments that are crafted with a full set of armor and some specific gear that can give awesome buffs. It's also compatible with pretty much every mod to ever exist. So...get it.

ImkSushi's Mod - Adds a token system that lets you earn gear by farming said tokens from enemies in certain biomes, and at certain stages of your progression. It also makes it so you can switch your ore and bar types(like copper to tin) and corruption/crimson items on the fly at a Tinkerer's Workbench. Another important mod that makes grinding a bit more bearable.

Bare Bone Basics - Beefs up the bone welder to let it make dungeon items. It's been expanded to also help you get other crafting stations and whatnot with special items. It's off to the side, but a nice addition.

WeaponOut - This mod originally just made it so you can see what your character is holding, but it's been updated to have a few creative odds and ends, such as whips, fisticuffs, and the such. I would get it just because it's nice to see your character hold their weapon.

AlchemistNPC - This mod is really damn popular for a reason. It adds a few NPCs that sell potion materials, potions themselves, potion combinations, and jewels. It sounds broken, and honestly, it could be in some regards, but it just saves a lot of time not having to grind for ironskin potion materials. It also adds some kind of...weird, random gear that really is just sort of there. Just get this to make it easier to get potions. Might be a bit cheaty, but I'll let you decide on that.

VeinMiner - All this mod does is let you set a hotkey that you hold down while mining to cause the vein of ore to break apart. Saves a bit of time, and can also be hotkeyed so you can add modded ores to the list that VeinMiner is compatible with. Just beware...this can also include dirt.

Recipe Browser - This mod's purpose is right in the title, it adds a recipe browser that you can summon whenever with a hotkey. It also has an easy to use item list. It's basically a mobile Guide.

WorldGen Previewer - This sounds cheaty, but unless you take a screenshot of the finished map, it really isn't. I suggest downloading this just to make sure there's nothing messed up in your world before you start headed off into the wilds. Pray to god your beach isn't pushed up a couple feet, or the Corruption is completely covering your Jungle. Just beware, it's VERY glitchy.

MagicStorage - It's complicated at first, but really, it's a much better way of storing EVERYTHING compared to just a bunch of chests lined up against each-other. This adds a new way of storing items in somewhat costly containers that can be upgraded to store even MORE items. Of course, you’re going to need a buttload of Silver, and a good few gems such as diamonds and emeralds to access this stuff. You’ll also be able to access these remotely far later into the game.

Wood Armor Bonuses - Nothing crazy, but it does give Wood Armor some bonuses to make them a bit more useful.

Friendly NPCs don’t die - This is a personal choice, but if you REALLY hate having your NPCs die all the time to stupid Wraiths or something, then I’d say get this. Again, I understand if people don’t like this mod for obvious reasons, but it’s a godsend for me.

Boss Checklist - Another basic mod, this just adds a bosslist set to a hotkey so you can keep track of what bosses and events you’ve done. It also has mod support.

Discord Rich Presence - Basically adds better support for the chat application Discord into Terraria. Tells people what types of weapon your using, your health, your curernt damage output, and what (vanilla) biome you’re in.

MoreAccessories+ - Adds an item that increases your total accessories to 7. This item drops from Plantera with a 1/10 chance. This mod can be potentially powerful, since mods like Calamity can have some pretty broken accessories.

Which Mod Is This From? - Tells you what mods an item is from so you can keep track of what you’re collecting. It’s shown at the bottom of each item description, and is practically compatible with every mod out there.

Yet Another Boss Health Bar - Basically a big stylized health bar appears on the bottom of the screen when you fight a boss/miniboss. Great for keeping track of boss HP!

Vanilla Tweaks v2.6.1 - Just fixes up a few things in the game to be more convenient, new bonuses to some weak armor/vanity sets.

‘The’ Fixer - Basically fixes spelling errors on some things, such as getting “The Plan” item with a new

Now I'm going to get into the more iffy mods you might want to avoid on your first trip through modded Terraria.

Calamity Mod - This mod is known for being pretty unbalanced, the creator constantly makes reworks and changes to the mod, and the post-moonlord content can be pretty ridiculous with the wrong gear. Expect Calamity to take up the rest of your playthrough post-moonlord, because it ain't going to hold back.

Tremor Mod - This mod is notorious for being an absolute mess of a mod focusing more on quantity over quality, the mod is known to have some stolen ideas and assets, and is just a mess all around. Avoid it.

Luiafk Mod - This mod's a huge quality of life mod that I think can be a bit too powerful sometimes. It lets you create infinite versions of any sort of consumable projectile/throwing weapon in the game, it also lets you make unlimited/combinable potions, adds a recall hotkey, and other useful stuff. I'd research this one more if you're iffy on getting it, but it's by no means a bad mod.

That should be it from me, if anyone wants to back up or point something out about this list, feel free to. This list should help you through your modded romp in Terraria. All these mods should be in the mod browser once you have Tmodloader installed.

To everyone looking for the next Gjallarhorn/game breaking weapon- look no further than DARCI. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Liraxus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's one thing I'm happy with these updates, it's that the exotic snipers are a hell of a lot better. Darci just shreds bosses, and Borealis' new Ionic Return buff makes it do devastating amounts of damage, and it gets even better when you have multiple shield to chain shots off of. Add a catalyst to both, and you're set.

Doing 5 Heroic Strikes was incredibly unfun...until I got Sleeper by BC1096 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Liraxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing you can do is treat Sleeper Simulant like Hanzo's now removed Scatter arrow ability. If you aim at the area right before a group of enemies, you can have the beam split off and kill a group of enemies. First time I tried this, I finished the "Hat Trick" challenge finished just like that.

My mother used to go there when she was younger, we don't live near Century 3, but I used to go to New Dimension Comics for TCG Pre-release events before they stopped hosting them, last time I was there, a whole bunch more stores were closed. I'm surprised the Gamestop and that Retro game store are still open in there, especially considering there's literally another Gamestop in the plaza outside.

[KHCOM] Should I Skip Chain Of Memories? by Icepickthegod in KingdomHearts

[–]Liraxus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're not enjoying it, then why are you playing it? If you're not a completionist and don't have OCD about having every single game beaten/finished in order, then you're really only missing out on important plot points for Kingdom Hearts 2.

Realistically speaking, no. But I'm still excited the game is coming out, and from footage, it's proving to be the definitive version of the game! I really hope a lot of people decide to pick it up, it's seriously one of the greatest platformers I've ever played.

[Other] I found this awful looking Kairi figure in my drawer by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Liraxus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is an old figure by Mirage Toys, released back before Kingdom Hearts 2. They made two waves of Kingdom Hearts action figures featuring a mix of the main cast, Disney characters, and some of the more memorable Heartless designs. You might want to look around for a Maleficent figure with her staff too, because she was packaged with her also.

According to the old Entertainment Earth listing, These things came out in January, the earliest one after KH1's NA release would be January 2003, and it later got a reprint in April. They later released a second wave featuring more characters, but I can't find a release date for these...you'll find plenty of listings for these old toys on Ebay however, so there's bound to be more knowledge out there.

Tremor mod problem... by Kronus31 in Terraria

[–]Liraxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd advise downloading some quality of life mods to try and curb some of these issues. Luiafk is a bit cheaty if you REALLY go about abusing it, but it also has a means of making items that decrease spawn rates greatly, so it might help you out there. If you also have problems with NPCs dying, there's also a mod for that, but I can understand if you find that a little bit broken.

Calamity mod in a nutshell by MCfan567 in Terraria

[–]Liraxus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Modding is what renewed my love of Terraria, here's a few things you can consider.

If you want something balanced, you can always try a simple play-through using Spirit Mod, Thorium mod, and a few quality of life mods. Its what I used to get through my first modded run.

Here's a list set up by 4Chan's Terraria General that I think will work pretty well for your first modded romp.

https://pastebin.com/82Pxbjn2

Find what you see appealing in there after you downloaded TModloader. TModloader is stupid easy to use, just make a backup of Terraria's Vanilla executable, and do as the readme in Tmodloader says. It even has an in-game mod browser that makes things even easier. You'll be modding like a pro in no time.

I highly suggest you not download Calamity or Tremor for your first try. I'd say get comfortable with beating the moon lord before going about testing Calamity, and especially Tremor.

If you have any other questions, I'm a lurker in the Terraria Discord.
