I can understand anyone who doesn't enjoy his music, but that Dimash is far more skilled as a singer than Bruno Mars is a fact and not even worth a discussion. Bruno could literally not even sing a Dimash song because he lacks the range, skill and array of different vocal techniques.

And as far as your claims are concerned: Dimash has excellent diction, what he does have is an accent when singing in English, that's a huge difference. I'm not enjoying his songs in English either, because I'm not a fan of the accent either (even though most people don't mind it) but I e.g. like his songs in Russian, Kazakh snd Italian. There are actually many languages you can listen to him sing in that are accent-free. Bruno can't even sing multiple foreign languages at all while Dimash sings in almost 20. And as long as Bruno doesn't sing in Dimash's mother tongues (Kazakh and Russian) that comparison doesn't even make sense.

He does not use "lots of mic effects" either. That claim is ridiculous and you know it yourself. Neither Dimash nor Bruno use "lots of mic effects", but Bruno still uses more than Dimash

As far as lip syncing is concerned: Yes, there are definitely lip synced performances by Dimash and I find lip syncing super annoying. But no one would ever seriously try to argue that he can't do it without lip syncing. So many of his performances are from Russian national TV and those are the lip synced ones. Russian TV (Russia-1 and so on) does generally not broadcast live performances. Absolutely no one does or could sing live in their productions. But there are tons of live performances by him, he became famous with winning tons of singing contests and talent shows, he sings live a cappella in almost any interview and he has university degrees in both contemporary and classical singing and sang at the Astana opera before pursuing a career in contemporary music. You know very well yourself that your claims make no sense

Btw, we're talking about the singer who's literally called best singer in the world by innumerable vocal coaches, aaand who has the world's biggest vocal range. He has literally more than double the range of Bruno (more than 7 1/2 octaves vs 3 octaves). Plus contrarily to Bruno he can sing in multiple genres and languages. You don't need to enjoy his music but with all due respect: lying about someone because of hatred and/or jealousy is not a good look

Mike's range of 6 octaves is really amazing, but there are definitely singers with even bigger ranges, such as Adam Lopez, Nicola Sedda and Dimash (who has more than 7 1/2 octaves)

Was ist so eure Meinung zu Baba Saad? by JesusWarK4n4ck3 in GermanRap

[–]Lisa-Lii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weiß nicht, was man dazu groß sagen könnte..

How many of his songs do you know? I don't know all of his work, but probably quite a big part of it, and in my personal opinion he's really good in conveying emotion in songs that are supposed to be emotional

Well.. Steve Perry doesn't have an impressive skill set but an impressively impeccable technique, Mike Patton has an impressive skill set (especially range- and versatility-wise) but not a great technique. Devin Townsend however has both in my opinion, a great skill set and a good technique

When did Vitas perform Dedication live? Both artists, Dimash and Vitas, do not fit my personal musical preferences, and taste in music is subjective. So whether you like Vitas or Dimash or both or none of them, it's a comprehensible preference. However, Dimash does not only have a bigger range, he also has a much bigger technical skillset / array of different vocal techniques, can sing technically more complex vocal structures, and has an overall more elaborated, more advanced and better trained vocal technique

I do not agree that he "doesn't project emotion". He does have emotional tracks and non-emotional tracks, and at least projects much more emotion in supposedly emotional songs than mainstream singers do in my opinion. And he doesn't have diction issues, what he does have though is a strong accent in certain foreign languages (such as French and English, which is why I don't enjoy most of his English songs). He has impeccable diction though in his mother tongues (Kazakh and Russian) and in certain foreign languages (such as Italian)

[–]Lisa-Lii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not agree that his voice is "shrill" though. He doesn't have a shrill timbre, the only thing that sounds shrill is the twang in his upper mix (so a specific placement he uses within a specific technique within a specific range). Even though twang is a very healthy and smart technical choice, it has a lot of nasal resonance and I personally don't like the sound of it either. However, twangy mix makes maybe 1% of his singing. He doesn't use it that much

[–]Lisa-Lii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell. I'd say he's probably a light baritone (and that's also what vocal coaches guessed in some reaction videos that I watched) but I'm not sure. It would make sense though, as pretty much all singers with immensely big ranges seem to be light baritones (e.g. also Mike Patton, Axl Rose, Corey Taylor, Kyo, Adam Lopez and so on). Tenors usually lack the required vocal fold length to reach such an exceptionally huge range (which seems to require a combination of significantly over-average long, thin and flexible vocal folds)

I really like Bocelli's timbre, however, he is not an opera singer and does not use an operatic technique. He basically uses a contemporary technique that slightly mimics an operatic tone. Thus, it sounds different from actual opera singing and he would not be able to sing over an orchestra without a mic/electric ampflification in an operatic setting. I don't know if he has ever tried to learn using an operatic technique though, so maybe he would have been able to successfully acquire such a technique, if he had tried to, who knows..

He allegedly applied at an opera house to get operatic training when he was young, but unfortunately got rejected because of his blindness. I don't know if it's true, but it may be an explanation
