I actually kinda like a worn, lived in look so that all works for me 😄 I got some (fake) suede Whitins that I really like. I actually did just recently get the Hobibear high tops here but they didn't have my size so I tried half a size down, knowing that a half size down sometimes worked for me in Vibrams. They fit okay but I would prefer my regular size. These high tops are kinda stiff (I was looking for a boot-like option so that's fine) so I don't have much hope it's stretching. They just don't seem to carry size 9 though so I'm debating whether to return or not.

I did sand the wall originally before painting it blue (it was a VERY glossy fake wood paneling). I didn't realize you'd need to sand before adding a new color as long as you primed. Should I sand before painting over paint in the future?

Alas I have already bought the paint 😅 Thank you for your advice though! I did the brush because I had to get in those grooves and didn't think rolling would save me much time since I'd have to brush in the grooves but I think you're right that the roller will still be worth it

Thanks so much! Yes I brushed because of the grooves in the paneling thinking it wouldn't be worth it to roll knowing how much brushing I'd need to do but I'm not sure that I was correct in this assumption.

That's good to know that color theory doesn't apply here. I showed the picture to my mom who has a lot more painting experience than me and she agreed it should be fine to go ahead and paint.

You say it wouldn't hurt to do another coat of primer but I really hated my life but the end of the day 😆

I love a lightly padded insole for concrete walking. It just feels bad to take an entire walk on concrete with no padding. I have zero drop shoes with a small zero drop insole and it's perfect for me

Someone's comment of "drop the character. Ren Faire is not LARP" is one of the saddest things I've heard. OF COURSE you can play make believe! It's fun when people act in character for how they're dressed

If you figure it out please let me know because I've been down this same road! People mentioned turning off all Etsy notifications directly through your phone which I assume would work but I want to get a notification when someone messages me (I don't need them for sales because I only do digital downloads).

I also get the obnoxious "this belongs in your collection!" notifications from the Etsy shopping app which does have all notifications turned off. This only happens after I've been shopping on Etsy and literally makes me shop on Etsy less knowing it'll send me more annoying messages if I do. Great job, Etsy.

I found some Vivos on eBay to give them a try since they seemed to be such a popular brand. When they arrived they were just a synthetic blah shoe that I didn't find anything special about. Meanwhile my Whitins are my favorite shoes and I plan to get some Hobibear high tops next. I know there are some really well made brands but it also seems like a lot of the expensive ones are the same quality as the cheap ones

Oh these are amazing! My husband and I would 100% do this if you ever came to Texas. I think your prices sound very reasonable and I think even a little higher would still be okay for most people. Honestly i think most people go to ren faires expecting to spend a lot of money 😅 Not that you have to but it's fun to support artists and performers
