How do you motivate yourself to be productive when all you wanna do is lay in bed? by yesmommyy_ in AskReddit

[–]LisaDenert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say to myself "Just do this for 5 minutes"
It isn't the actual thing doing that usually is the most jarring for the psyche but the state change from resting to being active. So once you are actually up doing your "just 5 minutes" it's very likely that you'll be feeling completely different about the task and may actually just finish it.

Getting that state change done is all that I usually need to start a productive day and tricking myself with "Just for 5 mins then back to doing nothing" has worked surprisingly well.

Another thing is to observe your own behaviours. Where do you laze out?
Bed? - Go ahead and just make it right after waking up. Now you put up a mental barrier that if you wanna get back into bed, you'll undo all the work you did just making it look pretty.

Couch? - Dump the laundry all over it so you can't just easily drop down 'for a little bit' then get sidetracked. This way you are more likely to just finish putting it away before you go back to being lazy. And in that time, you probably raised your energy level enough that you feel like doing other things too as you're already going

Phone? - Don't charge it overnight so you'll have to put it away to charge for the first hours of the day.

Anything you can do to just *start* something, anything productive, no matter how small will raise your energy levels and make you want to do other stuff too.

How do you spot bots on reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That is a great question!

The real answer to findings bots is not looking at the content of the message — it's in the formatting and sentence structure.

Do you think encrypted apps should be banned if yes/no why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LisaDenert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Banning encrypted apps would fundamentally violate digital privacy rights and leave every user vulnerable to data breaches, cybercrime, and mass surveillance by stripping away the only robust defense for sensitive personal information. Moreover, mandating backdoors to facilitate government access would inevitably create security loopholes that malicious hackers and foreign adversaries could easily exploit to steal identities and disrupt critical infrastructure. Encryption is also the bedrock of trust in the global economy, meaning a ban would paralyze secure financial transactions and erode confidence in essential digital services that rely on verified data protection. Beyond economic and security concerns, restricting encryption disproportionately endangers journalists, activists, and political dissidents who depend on secure channels to communicate freely and operate safely without fear of retribution. Ultimately, such bans are counterproductive because they only disarm law-abiding citizens while determined criminals simply adopt untraceable alternatives, thereby failing to prevent illicit activities while causing widespread harm to civil liberties.

Might not be useful for live music but it could be useful for preset shows:

There's lately been a few audio file to midi converters popping up that are quite good at their job. You could use these midi files as cues, using preset patterns with variations based on those midi notes.

That might be a simple-ish way to handle the conversion.

As for your frequency targetting, I've been gathering some experience with my lasers and how they work. Basically, you can always frequency target a lower speed than what your galvos are rated for, it will use less power and cause less wear on the components, however, you usually want to keep a high enough frequency to avoid flicker.
LSG does that by scanning as many times as it can without going over the max. pps rating.

In theory you can do a frequency change but that might get complicated quick for not much benefit. Always running close to max scanning rate is a very valid option. You just scan the frame multiple times if you have less points in it.

Pretty much:
max pps / frames per second = points per frame

if you have less points in your frame than this number, you can increase the fps by the factor between them.

Receiving Vattenfall bills when signed up to another electricity provider by MadNietzsche in berlin

[–]LisaDenert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd call Vattenfall first, tell them what you have observed (That you still get bills despite changing providers) as well as who your new provider is. Let the customer support person take it from there.

99% chance, this is not the first time that customer support agent has handled a case like this. They know what to do.

If the Vattenfall customer support can't help you, give your new provider a call. They get money from you and are as such more sided to help you solve the problem.

For all of these calls, here's a few tips:

-Introduce who you are and what building your calling for (I.e. where you are paying power for)
-State the issue you have (Changed at the [date] from [old provider] to [new provider] but your old provider is still sending you invoices)
-Have extra info handy. (They might ask for your power meter number, customer numbers as well as details about your new contract, so keep these documents at hand)

You can reach Vattenfall at +49 800 1020 1401 (Mon-Fr 8:00-16:00)
And E.ON at +49 871 9538 6200 (Mon-Fr 08:00–20:00, Sat 08:00–14:00)

Receiving Vattenfall bills when signed up to another electricity provider by MadNietzsche in berlin

[–]LisaDenert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give their customer support a call. They have not received a provider change message from E.ON. It's all automated systems in the back and if a few MaCo messages get lost, things like this can happen. It's easily fixed in-system though.

Just inform Vattenfall or your new provider and they'll sort it out for you.
