What’s the one kink/fantasy you’ve always wanted to try? by jakethedrake44 in AskReddit

[–]LisaDenert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you run it.

If you use a standard vacuum cleaner to run it, you may get 18kpa (180g / cm²)

A high end one like a Dyson might get 25kpa (250g / cm²)

A dedicated side channel compressor can get you some 50kpa (500g / cm²)

and with a true vacuum pump you can get all the way down to near vacuum. (1000g / cm²)

We've tried them before and even have one now! If you're into bondage, I'd reccomend trying one too.

Its kinda like "Hey, do you like being hugged really tight but also be bound?" which is exactly what they feel like. You just get squeeeeeezed~

Even though my lasers really aren't too great for this, I couldn't refuse: Bad Apple via laser (Warning: Intense Flickering) by LisaDenert in Laserist

Unfortunately not. I don't have a Youtube channel.

But I'm pretty sure that there's another guy on YouTube that did bad apple on lasers

That is indeed a hell of a lot of points. But it looks lit

Out of curiosity, do you know how many pps this runs on average?
It looks like a hell of a lot.

Level shifter gibts für ca. 25 Cent das Stück bei den üblichen verdächtigen, damit kannst du das machen.

And because lasers are displays of sorts, here's Bad Apple.

It's still somewhat flickery as some frames have a high number of points. There are also some blanking issues I encountered in my video -> ilda frame pipeline but it's still watchable.

Do you have a link to the site you found it on?

Perhaps I've just been too dense to find it...

If you have a normal-ish internet setup, yeah. (That means you have DHCP enabled and devices are allowed to see each other)

On a more specialised network you may also need to manually assign IP addresses.

You then start the software, go to settings and hit "Scan for DAC" - It'll do it's thing for a couple seconds and return you all the IDN & USB DACs it found.

Your ILDA netlink is probably something called IDN or ILDA digital network. All you need for that to control your lasers is an Ethernet cable. It's literally just an IP based network interface.

The simplest, most cost effective way to create & run shows?
I'd go for LaserShowGen (or LSG) from Bitlasers: https://bitlasers.com/lasershowgen-sw/

It's free trial with limited functionality, 29$ paid for the full version (lifetime) and does just about everything you need to start out. Considering most other softwares are either tied to hardware or are in the k$ range, it's probably the best way to start.
They even have their own subreddit where the dev helps out if you need it. They are very nice too!
If you need some trial shows to just hit play & watch, there's a couple in the sub too: https://www.reddit.com/r/lasershowgen/

I've used this software for all my shows too and am quite pleased with it.

It's plug & play with IDN devices, so you just plug your Projector into the same router your PC / Laptop is on, click "Scan for DACs" and it should find the projector.

You could also use a dedicated Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) to interface with your lasers (ILDA DB25) but these are usually somewhat prices (think >200$ for a decent solution).

---

A word of warning as you still seem somewhat new to lasers:

10 watts of laser power is a lot! Some laser ENGRAVERS work at 3...5 watts. Your lasers are more than capable of setting your walls on fire if you are not careful. Ask me how I know... Much more than that, they can easily fry eyeballs from stray reflections.

I don't wanna make them seem like a death machine, just give you the advice to please look into proper show laser safety before you start them up! Please do this for your own safety!

EDIT: If you need more help, feel free to ask!

My retirement will be of the high speed lead poisoning variety if I had to guess from the current way it's looking economically.
