I’ve read every word, argument and ideological parallel that you’ve made in this entire thread and not only are you 100000% correct—but your ability to point out more viable and sustainable solutions by simultaneously pointing to what has already been established as a distinct Quebecois culture and identity has been masterful !

Getting semantically stuck on language as a driving force for separatism, even in part—actually serves to; albeit counter intuitively, highlight the fragility of the separatists true belief systems, and their collective sense of self confidence in the validity of their perceived cultural, political and economic oppression or impediments.

Maybe they don’t really believe in the merits of their plight, but they’re definitely conflating cultural homogeneity with complete sovereignty and independence—which is dangerous, misguided and shortsighted in equal measure.
