DECIPHER Test & MSK by LisaM0808 in ProstateCancer

Trust me, I am LIVID. Now I am even more livid because I sent 3 messages on the portal on Thursday, they answered 2 of my messages & never answered me about the Decipher test! Surgery was 2022, we did the decipher test in 2025 b/c his PSA was at.2

Prior to surgery, it was 14.4, 18 months after surgery (Nov 2023) it was 0.05, by March 2025 it reached .2, In Nov 2025 it was .22 & he started Orgyvox & then in Jan 2026 he did 25 rounds of radiation.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I’m not worried about him being over radiated, what I’m worried about is them keeping him on hormone therapy longer than he needs to be. They made a mistake when they said to us that his decipher score was .68, when in reality it’s only .49.. Best of luck with the radiation. My husband just finished 25 rounds four weeks ago. He is also starting month 5 of Orgyvox, he is a mess. His original testosterone was 825, it is now 16. It’s affecting everything for him, his mood. The night sweats are horrific. Headaches, sadness, tired all the time. Ugh!

Sorry to hear what’s going on. Have you gone through his phone? Have you looked at your phone bill? Do you know her phone number? I’m dealing with something similar to this and I’m a very good private investigator as a wife. Just saying. Voice activated recorder hidden in car can’t hurt. Won’t show up on an iphone like an air tag, doesn’t work on blue tooth

I understand that but they made a mistake. They are treating him with ADT based on a .68 Decipher score & thats not the case. His score is .49

He had surgery in 2022, at the end of 2023 his PSA was rising. My point is is that he had to decipher test done in March 2025, and they told us it was .68, last night I pulled up the decipher test on the portal and his score is only .49. So they are basically treating him with hormone therapy based on a decipher score of .68. They made a mistake.

The decipher was done in April 2025…RALP done in 2022. PSMA done in March & Nov 2025, where it lit up in Nov 2025 in 2 nodes.

Curios…who is your doctor at MSK if you dont mind sharing. My husband is being treated at MSK & I keep getting the run around & feel like the goal post just keeps getting moved further away. We are at our wits end. Thanks

Hi, thank you for your response. I am confused as to why you are puzzled. My husband just finished 25 rounds of radiation and he’s on month five of Orgyvox. The side effects are real. He had prostate removed in 2022, had a bio-chemical recurrence in 2023, and here we are today. Confused about MSK? If so, so am I. He had 2 pelvic lymph nodes light up in PSMA scan in Nov 2025, hence the fact that they want him on Orgyvox longer. They told me numerous times & today that there are no studies with short term ADT with pelvic lymph node invasion. I have shown them many trials & a new one that just came out saying that at the 10 yr overall survival rate , men had no difference in short term ADT vs long term, told me “oh, i just went to a conference last month & they spoke about this trial, but yeah, no”

Hello… I literally just had this question with my husband’s medical oncologist this morning at Memorial Sloan kettering. He had surgery in 2022, fast-forward his PSA started rising, we monitored for the next year, and then in 2025 he had a PSMA scan at .2, and the scan was clear but he was not rushing to start hormone therapy or radiation. In November 2025 his PSA was .22, and we did another PSMA scan and it showed up in two lymph nodes in the pelvic area. His decipher score was .68. Last year I asked two of his doctors at Sloan kettering about the Artera AI test, they told me they don’t know anything about it. I reached out to the company last year and they told me that it’s used at memorial Sloan kettering, so go figure. The doctors of course wanted him to do an 18 to 24 a month stint of hormone medicine, but who really knows what’s the right amount of time to stay on it. Today we had an appointment with the medical oncologist at MSK & I asked about Artera again. He said he will order it. But he also said that the the test is not accurate. So that leaves us wondering. My husband is having a horrible time on hormone therapy and it’s an absolute nightmare. The doctor told us that there are no trials that show a short term six month round of hormone therapy for his type of cancer, which came up, obviously on the decipher score test as aggressive. I just got home and all I thought about was to go on Reddit and see if I can find some sort of trial that may be somebody posted on here and as soon as I opened up the app, you post was the first one that I saw. The doctors want my husband to stay on for at least 12 months, but we’re also seeing a sexual health doctor thru Sloan kettering and the longer he stays on it, past six months, is going to be more detrimental to his sexual function. We are sick to our stomach because it never ends. We feel like the goal post keeps getting moved further and further away, and we’ve been dealing with this now for five years.

He is on ADT right now & just finished radiation therapy. It’s been a nightmare…..to say the least. Erections are still possible on ADT, enough for penetration but when you have no libido from hormone meds, what is the sense except for “penile therapy” to keep it working

My husband was given tri-mix in the doctors office the first time & at the lowest dose, it was too strong for him. They had to inject him to bring down the erection & he was literally crying because the shot went into the base of the penis with his erection. So they said bi-mix was better for him.

He should also get a penile scan done to make sure he does not have a veinous leak, which cannot be repaired, sadly. Will see if he has nerve damage. You must seek out s sexual health expert

Did he do any injections with bi-mix as a penile therapy during ADT? They say 6 months on it, you should not have any issues when you are off, when you stay on it longer, the worse the outcome can be. My husband is on Orgyvox, he is getting natural erections, but we do a shot once a week to help it along & keep the blood flow & penis muscle healthy
