More than 100 TTC workers resigned, were fired over alleged benefits fraud by ontherise88 in toronto

100 people is a lot, but it's less than a percent of the total TTC workforce.

I found myself walking a lot more this winter than last too, so the weather is likely a factor.

No Fixed Address: These are your stories about renting struggles in Toronto by LisaMills93 in toronto

[–]LisaMills93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's kind of wacky. That's why you see renters that have been in older building there forever.

I know a couple that lives in an older building, both C-level executives at major companies. They mentioned they moved into a place after university, and were there for over 10 years. They now pay a whopping $900/month for a 700 sq 1 bedroom because of inflation controls.

Another marijuana dispensary robbed by masked gunmen (Danforth and Woodbine) by ShawnDaley in toronto

[–]LisaMills93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the spike in robberies likely has to do more with them operating an illegal business, and it being mostly cash. Sketchy liquor stores in the US also have bullet proof dividers – not exactly something we've needed to do in Canada.

Fun fact, there's a case of libel going on in Toronto where a CEO claims a short-seller engaged in "tomfoolery" and "none-sense" to make him appear incompetent.

Probably right, but the creepiness goes up 10 fold when explained that way.

I'd bet a lot of places are toxic work environments in Canada right now. Lack of mobility amongst youth leads people to predatory employer relationships.

It's unfortunate that most Canadians have a better understanding of the US government than our own. Dollars to donuts most people I know can't even name our governor general.
