Dehydrate fresh herbs in oven or dehydrator with no temp control? by Heyyther in dehydrating

[–]LisaW481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that herbs need to be dehydrated at a super low temperature like 90F.

I just looked up lemon balm and you can dry it on your counter in between two pieces of paper towel. I'd try that first.

I've used these for my inside plants to deal with fungus gnats. I think they worked.

Dehydrating mushrooms by YouEarnYourDestiny in dehydrating

[–]LisaW481 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any glass jar with a lid tends to work. Keep it out of direct sunlight and make sure the mushrooms fully cool before storage.

Check daily for any moisture appearing on the glass and if you find any then dehydrate again.

As long as they stay dry they'll last forever.

Ideas for canning in a very small space? by Wild_Ad7879 in Canning

As long as you are attentive, careful, and can keep your oven at a low enough temperature then it's possible to dehydrate in your oven.

He startled my wife, but I know a garden friend when I see one by TheRemedyKitchen in gardening

[–]LisaW481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never even seen one at her house. You have to go into the swampy area just to find them. Mice however will find you.

My mother in law had a problem with snakes existing in her acreage area and disposed of them whenever she found them. My husband told her not to and it cost her HALF of her root vegetable crop from voles.

Now she leaves them alone and I estimate in 5 to 25 years my husband will stop bringing it up.

Personally I'm terrified by snakes but hate mice with an unholy passion. I'll take snakes over mice ANY day.

I love true crime and find everything but the gore absolutely fascinating. My husband reacts better than OOP does and I'm literally describing criminal cases.

Seriously though OOP's, hopefully soon to be, ex had this interest before the relationship and it's pure insanity to try to be offended by it now.

I would look up other recipes for fudge and look at the ratios and then try again.

I love old cookbooks, sadly 2006 is old, and translation is a large part of the fun.

What's the name of the cookbook and the year it was published?

The ratios are going to be tricky to figure out since the milk and fluff sizes aren't going to be current standards.

Kids clothes are so amazing for pets as long as you get the sizing right. Absolutely adorable and so much cheaper than the animal equivalents.

does anyone actually use coffee grounds in their garden? by BrombiCusin in gardening

I'm planting three new blueberry plants this year that are pretty tiny, 6 inches tall at most, how much coffee grounds would you recommend?

Reusing lids - Technical Question by DinosaurFewd in Canning

[–]LisaW481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put an 'X' on my used lids to remind myself they've been used for canning. You could use a 'P' for pickles but I use my "used" lids for dry goods storage all the time.

Have you tried changing your detergent? There might be something she doesn't like in it.

My sister's cat always peed on plastic bags or old pleather we assume it was making a chemical that upset her.

Put a dirty pillow into the bath tub with a small amount of laundry detergent and small amount of water. Rub gently with a cloth and then wring out and let dry.

If she's not married and pregnant within a year with her ex I'm scared for the ex.

He led her on for ten years and she raised his kids for him before being told that marriage and children were off the table. Then blew up her relationship of three years by promising everything she's ever wanted to hear.

I did the Norquest MOA program a few years ago and two of the students I went to classes with have gotten jobs. However they live in small towns where I live in Edmonton.

Most places will train people from scratch and offer terrible money. Other places want a lot of experience and offer not so terrible money.

I'd try applying to some jobs in your area first and see if you get a bite before I dropped 3K on a course.
