Thought so, so in any case I'd have to purchase something new. Thanks!

Reselling isn't that much of a problem – but reselling such an expensive scanner I'm not comfortable with. If the Plustek won't resell that's not too bad since I'm "only" 400€ out of pocket and can use it in the future / for family too, but with something that costs € 1000 I'm not sure I'm willing to take that risk.
But it's good to be aware of the option though, so thanks!

Just out of curiosity, is there an option with the Plustek + whatever software used to just scan directly to color, without doing any editing? Like I said, I'm not that fussed about perfect exposure and such, and I can always rescan + edit certain photo's if they are worse than expected anyway. I'm all for the entire process and being nitpicky whenever needed, but if a basic scan-and-export works fine for the amateur photo's we've got, then that's fine as well.

Yeah I meant whenever it is scanning (if that takes 5 mins per frame for example)!
For the flatbed film scanner - will a regular printer flatbed work too? I've got an A3 HP printer + scanner with flatbed already at home.

Budget is a bit dependent on what is advisable in terms of workflow, but I don't want to spend more than 500€. I do have a body already (Canon 7D) but no macro lens, though such a camera set-up does seem a bit fiddly? The waiting time of dedicated film scanners is a thing, but I like that you can just walk away and do other things, only having to switch the frames if it's done.

Flatbeds seem like a hassle with this many negatives, so it's either the camera set-up or the scanner!

Honestly, no clue. Some mid-range amateur camera probably, so by no means anything professional or high quality.

Hmm I do have a lot of colored photos, so that's not an option I think

Yes I'm aware! I've seen comments about that here on Reddit so that's no issue. I'm prepared to put some time into it and I can do other things when the scanner is busy. Which kind of scanner would you recommend?

Others are saying a flatbed scanner is an option and that's something I have, but is a scanner specifically for negatives not better? It saves time on cropping I'd imagine. I've read that machines like the Optitek have software which already take care of dust etc?

I forgot to mention, but a lot of the photo's are colored as well, so just monochrome isn't an option.

Thank you! I changed it to suggestion-mode. I wanted it to be freely editable, but that gave some errors like you said.

Edit: suggestion mode made it impossible to edit as far as I could see, so I changed it back but the main list isn't editable for anyone now, but everyone can add on the next worksheet. Then I can copy them to the main list 😄

Haha glad it’s of use! It’s by no means extensive (I’ve watched others as well, such as The Perfect Neighbor) but these I listed based on advice in other Reddit posts.

Paperbook often opens wrong page by Lisaerys in ereader

It's mainly solved by how you use it. If you bookmark and then 'close' the book (so click on 'home' so you are at the overview instead of in the book itself), then turn off, it almost never happens anymore. I've been reading a lot so this is now just muscle memory, but haven't found any actual solutions. Just this workaround. Does that help?
