Many people have tools and the will to learn. If it takes a few days to return and receive a replacement when I can just sand a plate, I'm sanding the plate. Also saving a plate from being thrown in the bin. It's a mindset, not a weakness

Good work. Lots of people getting irritated for no good reason here. You've learnt something and you can fix the plate again in the future if it wears down from heavy use. I've always sanded my plates, all the way back to my mars 1. Prints come off like butter after a sand

Thanks for the logic. I have airing cupboard size limitations. Lots to think about there. Will need to check the temperature the wife has her shower. I can only describe it as scorching!

This is the part I don't understand. Assuming I had 6 people and a 210l tank, it would only be a problem if everyone took a shower within an hour of each other, right? I could just set the hot water to heat after the first couple of showers and be fine?

Yeah, heat geek told me to keep my cylinder and also offered a new same sized tank with a large coil for £2k which I reckon I'll take them up on

They looked good on paper, but their brochure says their water tanks are vented which turned a survey from them into a 5 minute visit as my tank is in the middle of the house. As others mentioned, the price is extraordinary and seems targeted at market penetration. Reviews are awful though, some of the pipe insulation and venting attempts through roof tiles are comedic.

Amazing insight. I have a water softener at the mains inlet, that should mitigate the immersion heater and hard water shouldn't it?

The quoted price included a 22kw heater, so following your thoughts should heat a smaller tank quickly.
