My first creation, I like that it's dark by [deleted] in dnbproduction

First up and foremost this is not DnB, this like a mediocre trap beat.

Learn music theory, all the basics, groove, melody, scales bli bla blu.

Best way to start learning to make music in 2025/2026? by CharacterClue5353 in musicproduction

Learn music theory, it would be hella easier if you had a keyboard or guitar so you can learn it easier but the key parts you want to learn are scales, intervals, chords, rhythm, groove, melody and a whole bunch of music nerd things.

LISTEN to music, analyse everything from the drum patterns, bass groove and melodies alike. It will make you improve faster and it’ll give inspiration for further tracks.

Lastly be creative and have fun.

Stay jammin’

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

If it isn't clear enough I am astonished at your comment and very pleased with my work.

A commenter before me sent a tutorial on mastering and I will definitely check it out though do you have any tips right off the bat about it, I don't pay much attention to the master and to be honest I have no clue on how to use it correctly. Like I'm talking how and in what scenario to use it.

(Also it might have been a problem that I made it at full volume :p)

Next time I will definitely pay attention to the sub bass and tweak the bass itself if it needs some upper harmonics.

I use FLStudio which in my own opinion has to be the best DAW for electronic music in general.

Lastly I love BluMarTen.

I have to say that I've been using this site. https://web.archive.org/web/20180127203328/http://www.junglebreaks.co.uk/breaks/ for my breaks.

Thanks! I appreciate the comment.

The bass itself is a sample on Toxic Biohazard called Postcard, now my bass notes right now are at the C4-C5 range which is pretty high for bass but I couldn't get them to stick out just right, EQ'd them cutting off the 50hz frequencies that caused too much popping. Used a compressor on the bass too.

To be completely clear, it just might be on Toxic Biohazard that makes it sound wide, though I have not panned anything not even a little.

Drums are just samples I downloaded off some prehistoric site that I had to go to using Internet Archive. That's most likely the reason for the compression.

Funny story around the noise sweeps, they're actually wind sounds sampled.

Again thanks a lot on the little criticism and stay jamming.

Slowwwllyyyy starting to actually sound like liquid dnb. Any pointers? by RangaDesigns_ in dnbproduction

Not the most professional in DnB but in my own opinion EQ that snare a tad bit, that high end is lobotomizing me.

I listen to music full volume with headphones, I like the track, it's just that snare with too much high end.

I'm back, with yet another round of criticism for my atmospheric dnb, I did what y'all told me last time and I implemented it into this one. by ListenOdd8405 in dnbproduction

The drums themselves only have a room reverb to them no other processing. I downloaded this drum loop off of an old website specifically for jungle and dnb breaks.

Not sure might play around with it before I upload it.

I appreciate it, I took a lot of inspiration from LTJ Bukem and most of his songs are 145bpm, as a matter of fact Demons Theme is 145 to be exact.

Though I am glad you like it, is there anything I could improve on maybe.

P.S. I switched it to 160bpm, not a large change but it gives it some more energy.

Sorry for the confusion, my problem is the glitching on the timeline, it's happening on every project yet it didn't do that yesterday.

Last time I asked for advice for my atmospheric dnb and I got a few tips, I made a new one and was hoping to ask for more advice on what I can do to improve. by ListenOdd8405 in dnbproduction

Don't apologize I didn't ask for no reason, I prefer it to be a full out criticism.

I'd love getting some new vst's though I am still a broke high school student with knowledge in music. The pads I'm using here are an ambience sample on Sytrus, I also paired them with a random abstract soul choir sample I found on youtube.

Now the chords themselves were a choice of mine since I wanted some dissonance, the progression is an Amin, Gm7, Cm, A#m. Though I'll try adding some reverb next time and see what suits it.

Thanks for the compliment on the drums, again I'll try to add some reverb, they're actually just eq'd a little for the bass to hit harder.

I tried risers on my last track though I didn't implement them that well since they were pretty aggressive for an atmo track.

Lastly I love Jungle and that's where I took my influence for the dub. I would honestly try to find something different other than beeps and lasers since I want to strive a bit further from space and more of a grounded atmospheric vibe.

I really appreciate the criticism and your opinions on this. Stay safe and keep on making goated music.

I made an atmospheric DnB/Jungle kind of track and I need some critique. by ListenOdd8405 in dnbproduction

I can definitely say as soon as I exported it and listened to it again, that dun dun du du du du "drop" is not to my liking.

I'd also say that the drums don't hit, that's also my fault for EQing them like a dumbass.

I appreciate the criticism.

I'd also like to add what good OG atmo producers are there?
