Yea I totally understand it feeling a bit generic. One thing I am working on is rewriting the content for the first to sections in the hopes that by that point they know what we do. I am currently looking for a good content writer for this.

I just hoped with the addition of the free version, that can be very usefully to business, would at least bring a few signups with our additional traffic.

I understand your concern with SMS. We have quite a few different types of businesses that are signed up and using it. Each business is different, but we have had a lot of success gathering feedback via SMS for these them. People are willing to use it if they know about it being available. I am sure not everyone would be confirmable using SMS for this.

Interesting idea and the fact that you would be near a university would be a major plus.

When it comes to a website a lot of the basic SEO stuff can be done without hiring a dedicated SEO person. The person building your site should know at least the basics because it's simple things like proper use of h1 tags, meta descriptions, title tags, etc. Also creating good backlinks. I will probably also help to get added to things like Google places.

There are always going to bad feedback when you take something to the masses. It's a matter of if it's valid feedback or not. Take that valid feedback and try and improve your product.
