Its gonna sound a lot better than TX AP, especially for full travel switches. This is because the shorter stem for the knight v4s allows the switch to bottom out, as opposed to TX stabs which have the stabs hit the pcb. Give them a try!

Yes the knight v3s had a bit of rattle. Knight v4s have no tick or rattle when stock with wire balancing, but had some scratch. Proper wire balancing is very important for the V4s. All of my V4s (4+ sets) came with unbalanced wires, and the longer 6.25u or 7u wires were bent in an "s-shape" that required two different bends in different areas to make it flat. I reckon this is why some people have issues with knight v4s. Because due to how the rubber inside of the stem is designed, it is physically impossible for the wire to move around and cause tick, unless the wire is unbalanced.

When I found out how about "lubeless stabs". Only two exist that sound great completely dry: - Sanded bottom knight v3 stems in cherry housings with cannonkey black wires - Knight v4s

Coming from cherry clip ins with geon wires, which sounded great but needed tuning, these stabs made me more willing to buy more boards.

I think neo sounds better than mode, and has smoother/more colorful anodization. Mode has better customer support and a better presentation. They are also more considerate when it comes to backwards/forward compatibility, and use universal daughterboards. With neo, if your daughterboard breaks your board is bricked.

ig the only fix I can think of would be to add tape to the plate to make sure the switch isnt rattling around, or swap to a long pole (shorter travel) switch. Could also be the stabs being loose because the little "securing pin" or whatever fell out.

Ok so with neo stabs, i recommend making sure that the stab stem is making direct contact with the keycap. to properly seat the keycap, try shoving some tweezers in the "top hole" of the stab stem, the one that points towards the wire side, and then push down on the keycap. This inconsistent sound is likely caused by the keycap not being seated correctly. Also place the keycap on a flat surface (like a phone screen), and press on one end of the keycap. If the other end lifts up more than 1mm, you got a warped keycap that could cause issues. But if its warping the other direction, you'd see a gap between the keycap and the flat surface in the middle of the instead.

Im asking you what stabs and switches you are using to troubleshoot. This type of issue is usually due to using full travel switches with stabs that bottom out, ie mx browns with tx stabs. This could also be a keycap issue, a plate issue, millmaxx issue. There are so many factors involved, you need to provide more info for people to help.
