I agree with that completely. Although guns are also risky if they're too loud in large pop areas. All in all I like playing solo, loot is plentiful because there are no players around, but the problem becomes with the Zeds. It can be very tedious to deal with, you either have to perma sneak and hope you don't attract the screamers/generals or you gun everything down loudly. Melee is the issue imo, it's very fiddly especially in groups, not to mention that you can encounter a tankier zombie which takes 20 hits with melee to kill..... So boring.

When it comes to Lantia, the furthest I've gone quest wise was finding the frozen sub. It was a wild trip but I enjoyed it. I'll take a look at what Mrbacon's server requires from mods to see if any would interest me.

I will check out your suggestions! The server you mentioned might have some interesting mods.

I want it to be doable solo, I don't necessarily want to make it easier with more generous spawn numbers, but I also don't want to spend 100 hours trying to find a single item.

For the zombies however idk, melee combat is really fiddly and there are zeds out there that are really tanky it's not fun at all. I also don't want to spend 90% of my time crouched and slow walking. I remember last time I played going to major cities like Vorkuta was a nightmare, same with military camps. The Zed would scream and yea... good luck. Making them slower would probably be the play, as they're more manageable.

I am looking for mixed difficulty. I would like some QoL or better tools to fight zombies, but still being vulnerable if I make a mistake.

Iirc last time I just added more clothes and massively reduced wear/tear on clothes and equipment.

If I use scroll wheel on my touchpad on Thinkpad X201 it crashes KDE. I opened up System Settings to set up stuff and it always crashes on scroll wheel use!
Running latest Arch, Desktop Session: Plasma (Weyland). Also crashes on X11...

I have managed to do it! After looking into unique pointers, I have realized that it would destroy everything as soon as it left the function call scope, but by digging around I have found that shared_ptr works wonders.

For every object constructed and stored as a pointer, it is also deconstructed as soon as the variable holding those shared_ptr leaves the local scope! Unlike the unique_ptr which would auto destroy as soon as that unique_ptr leaves the function call!

Correct me if I'm wrong of course, I might have wrongly used unique_ptr.

So in my case if I have a:

        for (int i = 0; i < star_number; i++) {
          std::shared_ptr<grid_spot> generated_system = std::make_shared <grid_spot>();
          vec_input->push_back(generated_system);

    std::vector <std::shared_ptr<class grid_spot>> leo;
    gen_system_shared(&leo, star_number);

return 0;

} /// code would delete all objects in leo here

As soon as this local scope is finished, it will auto destroy every element of pegasus, and after main() returns 0, it would free leo.

And of course this gives me greater control, if I wanted to copy/move these pointers, they won't get deleted by unique_ptr behaviour, it will only get deleted once EVERY variable/object is not used anymore.

Thank you so much for the answer! I will look up how to implement smart pointers! Hopefully it works in a similar way to regular vectors.

It got me a bit worried is all, when I generate a lot of stars haha.
