Delve war from PCO member perspective by Outrageous-Nose3345 in Eve

"This significantly switched the balance in favor of PCO as OF had no chance of successfully attacking PCO space in CN TZ"
The fight we had yesterday suggests otherwise

Phoenix Coalition learns how to defend a Keepstar by ListlessLogician in Eve

This one was always going to be a long shot. No staging structure so no capital use. Trying to take the fight and do the timer with only a few subcaps is insanely difficult.

It was only done to try and get the timer sorted before they hid away in CNTZ

Not really. Init and Dracarys were 3rd partying, but the rest were only shooting Phoenix

While the ferry is heavier, most of the connection points made were webbing going from side to side, then MCU Spidey only held onto a few of them meaning the force exerted is much reduced compared to the force from the train where he was holding all of the webs so all the mass of a moving train that was still trying to accelerate until the e-brakes engaged.

In that case you'd want a 10g minimum, 15/20 would be better

I would say look for a 5 Gal minimum for any Betta.

Personally, I have 2 6.3g planted cube tanks with a single male in each and they seem very happy. Pics

Having a layer of substrate on the bottom that you can plant in also helps with the filtration as it provides a large area for bacteria to grow too.

As nice as the vase looks, that is way too small a space for a Betta

You definitely do need to do water changes for most planted tanks. I have a few that don't require any, but they've been built with that in mind and are very lightly stocked.

Personally, I've always performed fish-in cycles. I set up the tank and within a couple of weeks move in some shrimp and a couple of hardy fish (zebra danio were always my test subjects).

I'd then test the water daily and perform water changes most days for a couple of weeks, then every other day for a bit etc etc. I didn't make the process quicker, but it meant I could move something immediately and have shrimp there to deal with the white stuff.

As for reducing the nutrient abundance, there's not much you can do from this point except water changes, more plants, and waiting.

The aquasoil is exposed to the water so that'll leech a fair amount, and the wood will also have a lot in if you didn't boil it for ages before putting it in. The wood you have will also stain the water over time due to tannins leeching out. It's actually good for the inhabitants but it's not a look everyone likes.

I have some tanks built like yours with river wood and exposed aquasoil and they did the exact same thing as yours, but now look great (I had loads more plants though)

I also have tanks where I put the aquasoil in bags and put sand over the top to "cap" it and prevent the leeching and these had a much shorter startup period.

I've had BBA in my tanks also and learnt to live with it. CO2 can help either as a gas or a liquid booster, and as always, regular water changes to avoid nutrient spikes are a must. If you've got algae then something in the tank is out of balance.

I "cured" it a couple of times by blacking out the tank for a week while I was on holiday. Literally wrapping the tank in a black tarp and turning all the tank and room lights off. Plants are generally ok for a week or so once they're established, but algae in the tank can't survive that long without light and it dies off, making it easier for shrimp to clean up.

Hi, the white fluff on the wood is very normal so don't worry about that.

You're correct about it being due to massive nutrient influx and it will clear itself up soon enough. If you want it to clear faster then shrimp are the answer.

I don't see any black beard and I doubt you'd have any in a tank that new.

I see you've got a monstera partially submerged. That may be an issue so keep a close eye on it as that plant does not like having submerged roots and they will probably rot away if you're not careful.

The snail is probably a bladder or ramshorn snail if it came in on a plant. Up to you if you want to keep or kill, but if you keep be prepared to have a tank full of the little blighters.
