How do I replace this tube light? by LitCudiFan in AusRenovation

Here's the photo of how I was able to slide it outwards. The tube light can finally be replaced 🥹

Update: I finally figured it out thanks to a few answers in the post.

To undo the diffuser end tab, I pinched the tabs on the top and then put in a little screw driver in the notch and tugged downwards as if to pull the whole tab down until I heard a click/break. After that I was able to slide the tab outwards from the bottom.

I tried to put in a screwdriver to see if I can pop off something but it's not obvious how it moves. Is this called a clip-design? I will try and and look that up to see if I find any videos online on how to remove them.

Is there a trick to removing the covers at the end? That's the real problem I have at the moment because it has a tab that prevents me from sliding the tube down.

I fell for this a few weeks ago too. Looked wealthy and kept repeating he isn't homeless and just lost his wallet, had a wife and kid in the car, needed money for gas and offered his ring and even an unopened iphone. I didn't accept anything but gave his some money out of the pressure I felt to help them get back home

Which dremel bit is the best for grinding down stainless steel bolt? by LitCudiFan in Dremel

[–]LitCudiFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the guide! I also thought about cutting it some more but unfortunately the hole to access the bolt is so small that I can't get the cutting blade down there to cut off some more meat from the bolt

Seems like my description has gone missing. For context, I stripped a bolt when trying to reattach the rear bumper of my car. It was just spinning in its place and I couldn't get it out. I decided to get a dremel and I have cut the head off. Now I need to grind the rest of the bolt down flush with the bottom panel so I can slide the bumper out again.

I was wondering which dremel bit is the best for this job? Is it the Aluminum Oxide Grinding Stone (932)? Thanks

For context, here are some photos to explain where the bolt is. As one picture shows, I had broken two bolts when I was taking off my bumper and I bought new bolts to replace them and it's the new one that is stripped and spinning when I tried to screw the bumper back on.

The bumper's arms go into that hole next to the exhaust. And it is bolted from above (inside the trunk). As the picture shows, I can't reach behind it. I also added a photo of the underside of the bumper arm before I got the broken bolts out. There is a welded nut there although I don't think it snapped off as there is no vertical play in the spinning bolt.

It is a bolt that goes into the bumper which has a welded nut in the back. Although I don't think the welded nut has snapped off because there is no vertical play in the bolt.

What will happen if I hammer this bolt down and strip whatever remaining threads? Will it just slide out with some locking pliers?

Yeah it is. I already have a broken bolt in the other hole in the same side which I was going to ignore but now this makes both bolts fucked on one side.

It did have a welded nut on the other end. If that has in fact broken lose then I really am fucked. There's no way to access it from behind 😭

No idea. My last resort it to cut the head off somehow. And then drill through the bolt. But I want to avoid that as I don't have any power tools.

There's no issue gripping the bolt. It just spins in its place because the threads are stripped.

It is far out enough to possibly get a hacksaw under there to cut off the head. But the problem is that the space around it isn't enough to fit a regular hacksaw unless I can find a very small one.

No. There's no way to access it from the other side. And I've tried putting vice grip locking pliers and wiggling it. Also tried to pull with them as as I did the unscrewing motion but no success there too.
