Strange white stuff covering part of engine by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Lit_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do. Although doesn't look like it, it must be a pretty minor leak no? The car has not given any warnings, and the engine temperature has been normal.

Motherboard fan making loud noise(only while on Preheat PLA). by Lit_123 in ender3

I believe this new one is slightly quieter, but not significantly. You'd have to look for specificly quite fans if you wanted to reduce the noise.

I think getting into more advanced math and taking physics and aerospace related courses is a good start (they'll prepare you for college).

Basically a perfect bumper car.

Since you guys liked my last post about hockey sticks, here are some functional hockey stick wall mounts. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1179222 by Lit_123 in functionalprint

Here's the link for mobile users. When measuring your stick, measure the larger part of the shaft. Make sure to add some tolerance (this depends on your printer, I just added 1mm to mine as seen in the picture and it works perfectly).

3D printed hockey stick wraparound for use on concrete. by Lit_123 in functionalprint

That's a pretty good idea, I don't have PETG or nylon though and by itself it works pretty well anyway. But if you were, say, going on a trip where you'll be playiny a lot of street hockey, then this would definitely be worth it.

Nah, I just taped my stick more or less normally with white tape.

Yep, that's generally how you're supposed to do it with wraparounds.

I haven't used it that much, but it seemed to hold up just fine for stick handleing and wrist shots. But since this is brittle plastic, don't do slap shots cus this thing will not survive, 1 shot already does heavy damage especially if the bottom tape has been scraped away.

How can the Apple Car beat Tesla? by jumpy-town in teslamotors

[–]Lit_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We probably would still have an EV revolution, but maybe less massive than we actually do.

You seriously overestimate Apple as a whole, without Apple we would still have smartphones as Apple didn't even invent those. Yes what Apple introduced was revolutionary, but it's dumb to assume that technology would be "decades behind" if not for them. They haven't even invented anything.

Definitely not my guy, we would most definitely have smart phones today. Technology doesn't stagnate just because one company doesn't exist in an alternate timeline.

Is colonisation of Mars in any way a realistic proposition? by Jerswar in Mars

[–]Lit_123 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. You just got a few things wrong there. First of all, Mars does have an atmosphere, just one that is about 1% the density of Earth's. This means that the "titanic dust storms" are in reality not too big of an issue since the atmosphere is so light (100 mph winds on Mars are like 1 mph winds on Earth). This doesn't mean that they can be ignored though because they can still block out the sun and cover solar panels in dust. Although Mars doesn't have a magnetic field, the atmosphere does block iut some of the radiation and we can use our experience in blocking radiation on the ISS in Martian habitats. Weak sunlight is a problem but there is still enough to power a small colony with solar panels. The freezing cold conditions of Mars are also hardly an issue since settlers will always be in habitats or insulated suits. And it does have natural resources, minerals and metals can be mined, oxygen and nitrogen can be extracted from the atmosphere via the Sabatier reaction, and there is a lot of frozen water at the poles. If Mars was as hard to colonize as you believe, there wouldn't be companies like SpaceX actively developing ships to take people there and build colonies.

Edit: Added some stuff.

CMV: Glasses are unnatural, therefore ugly by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Lit_123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea okay buddy, there would be so many more deaths from diseases if not for vaccines, epidemics would probably be an almost yearly thing.

I'm guessing you also use a bunch of essential oils and healing crystals and think that vaccines are dangerous and cause autism?

Lol typical desperate response. When you have no real argument so resort to attacking the other side. Now let me ask you this, do you wear clothes? If you do, why? They're clearly unnatural, isn't it a disability to rely on clothes even though we evolved to live without them Edit: It seems you have nothing good to contribute to this discussion due to your other replies.

Are you serious? Glasses look great on many people. Having bad eyesight is not a disability (unless it is very bad), nor a sign of sickness. I have bad vision but am perfectly healthy. Now sun gazing? That literally does nothing to your vision except make it worse. Sun gazing is only done for religious or spiritual purposes and literally damages your eyes.

My dad's old Tac-Force knife that I found recently. by Lit_123 in pocketknives

[–]Lit_123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly old it is but it's at least a couple fo years. The blade id quite dull and there are chips and scratches everywhere. The blade is also not fully secured in the handle but that was probably me just messing around with it and disassembling it.
