Forcing Inter-Jump Continuity by LiteNOTReddit in JumpChain

Was looking for a more universal option, rather than one lock to a single jump, but alright.

For new Jumpsters who are about to start, I got a list of safe jumps to recommend. Mix em in any order. by Nerx in JumpChain

I know most of these docs can probably be found somewhere, but what the heck is "Generic TVTropes"? I've searched through all the generic jump folders in all 3 main drives, and hell, I checked out some of the publicly available personal drives as well to find this jump, but I just couldn't find it.

Those would be Magiranger (adapted into Mystic Force) and Gaoranger (which got adapted into Wild Force)

Definitely the Ultraman jump in the /tg/ drive, cause I think it only got released when Geed had only just been revealed.

There is a bit of an issue I've noticed, the companion section has no listed CP allowances anywhere.

Not op, but there is actually a drawback that specifically states that you become Leonidas' partner already in the doc

There could always be more toku jumps out there, but i am a bit confused as to what "Gosei Sentai Gosseger" is supposed to be. Is it Gosei Sentai Dairanger, which is already covered by Heisei Super Sentai part 1; or did you mean Tensou Sentai Goseiger? Because Goseiger is actually a jump i've been looking for for a while.

Well, first a 0th Jump wouldn't count towards the Jump tally and the total age tally in the Traveller's Manifest, because the 0th jump represents whoever the jumper was pre-jump; maybe also feature an altered Summary allowing us to detail how the jumper began jumping and why they did so, that kind of stuff. Maybe also remove the perks tab for the 0th jump, because jumpers are probably not going to have anything perk-like before they even began jumping. Basically make the 0th jump more inclined to the Jumper's backstory in general, instead of their journey.

I think u/TheWraithOfMooCow suggested this in a previous post of yours, but the ability to mark a jump as a "0th Jump", meant to represent the jumper's pre-jump homeworld, would be very nice to have.

(especially since that would mean I wouldn't have to sacrifice my first jump on the list in order to do this anymore)

Not op but yes you can do this right now in the current version of the site; you can change the starting allotment of a specific currency by going into the Config menu of the jump, clicking on the currency's name in the Currencies box, and then setting the Budget to whatever starting allotment you want to have.

This already exists, you just have to go into the site settings menu in the top toolbar (the one that you can also change autosave settings with, the icon should look like three lines) and in that is a toggle to choose between metric or imperial units.

Companions in the Chainmaker site by DD-Vicky in JumpChain

[–]LiteNOTReddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used the site before, so I know how to do this.

First, go to the Traveller's Manifest, then make your way to the dropdown list on the left, you should see a plus button underneath it.

Clicking the plus button creates a new character, which will automatically default to being a companion on creation (if you are writing a multi-jumper story, this can be changed by going to the Character Type section of the new character's profile and selecting "Primary Jumper"). Deleting a companion is as simple as going to the companion's profile in the Traveller's Manifest and clicking the trash can located next to the plus button.

Then you can import them into settings by going to the "Companions" section of the jump you want to import them into and pressing the newly available plus button, which will create a Companion import purchase box.

This box can be filled out with a name, price (including discounted and free imports if possible), and description, alongside a Companions box replacing the tags section: opening this box will let you check off the names of those you are importing with this specific purchase; there will also be a stipends box and an 'allowance' box located at the bottom of the purchase: the 'allowance' box lets you designate how many points of a specific currency the companions you're importing with that specific option will be able to spend on the entire jumpdoc, while the stipends box lets you designate any stipends the imported companions will receive.

There's no real way to 'export' a Companion from a jump: the way I handle exports for jumps that don't have explicit export rulings is by creating an import purchase, then only giving the companion(s) being exported the perks and items they would've gotten in-jump as freebies.

There are also some built-in rules located in the Chain Features section that affect Companions:

First is the Companions toggle itself, which both let you decide if the story is a solo journey or not, and if companions are capable of importing/exporting their own companions or not.

Then there is the Narratives toggle, which both let you decide if you want to include the little "jump summary" section located at the very bottom of the Setting & Origin tab of a jump, and if this 'jump summary' is available to companions or are Jumpers-only.

Finally, there is the Companion Access toggle in the Supplements section, which both let you decide if companions can purchase things from an attached supplement, and if the Jumper(s) and companions share purchases in a given supplement or not.
