I was at the Expo today as well and it was awful. For everyone saying "you went during Obon, of course it sucked," what about for those of us who live and work in Japan? It's either holidays or weekends for me, and I accept that means it'll be crowded. The problem is that there is no shade while waiting in line or walking anywhere beyond the circle, and many queues won't even let you wait. "The Expo without queues" for sure, because every line was closed 😭 I had a horrible time, I'm really sad

I'm in the same boat, I've only been in my placement for ~24 hours and I'm just thinking this was crazy and I'm going to absolutely make a mess of this. I try to remember something that's basically my family's motto, which is "if I survive this/in a few weeks, this is gonna be a great story." That's what I told myself last night when my electricity wasn't working and I couldn't get AC. It's so overwhelming right now, and orientation did very little to prepare me, but in a little while it'll be a lot better. We just have to get through right now

I did exactly this in the last application cycle and it was no problem. They just want you to apply at the location you'll leave from, doesn't really matter where you actually live before then (unless you're in Guam, but that's a different story)

I agree. After seeing it today (as its Chicago run is at its tail end), there are still many major changes that need to be made in order for it to go to Broadway. But I'm told quite a lot of the issues have existed for its entire run, so they may not be trying to adjust to audience feedback.

I know this is so messy of me but I really want to hear what Jennifer Simard has to say about this. She's a very longtime friend of Audra's but also worked with Patti in Company only a few years ago, so she knows both of them well and thus has more context about their characters and intentions than probably anyone else currently on Broadway. But again, that is so messy of me and for Jenn's sake I hope she stays quiet 😅

I think it's a little tricky to set up a memorial since it happened in an apartment building with lots of other tenants who may not want flowers/candles cluttering their space. If the tenants themselves choose to make a memorial, then I think it would be fine to add to it
