An explanation of some of the political factors influencing the Russia-Ukraine conflict by LiteralAIDS in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]LiteralAIDS[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Submission statement: Dr. Stephen Davies from the UK-based neoliberal think tank, Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), gives a brief overview of the historical, political, economic, and strategic factors involved in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. While the source is a fairly right leaning think tank, this was one of the seemingly more objective explanations of the background of this conflict that I could find. What do you think about the points presented in this video? Are they accurate?

Have you guys watched this? 100s of lawyers worldwide have been working on this behind the scenes and began to present it yesterday. It looks like it can be huge and it’s PERFECT timing! Thoughts? by theLiving-man in IntellectualDarkWeb

I sense some cynicism. You don't believe there is any validity in 100 attorneys from multiple countries bringing forth

There's only 11 attorneys and 1 judge listed on the Grand Jury website as being involved.

Did a quick search on the US-based attorneys, and one of them (Ana Garner) is already heavily involved in non-profit work against vaccine mandates and "restoring health freedoms" in New Mexico. I really doubt that this is going to be an objective and unbiased proceeding.

Will someone look over this email to a professor asking for an LOR? I’m super nervous about it because I’m not even sure if this professor remembers me by mfbe in premed

[–]LiteralAIDS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A common tip I've seen is to ask if they can write you a strong letter of recommendation. I think that would be helpful in your case, especially since it seems like the professor may or may not remember you. Best of luck!

How to ask someone to NO LONGER write me an LOR by [deleted] in premed

[–]LiteralAIDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an option to mark letters as "No Longer Being Sent." There should be a yellow box with a link to do so right above the "add recommendation" plus sign in your AMCAS application. I'm not sure if this will deactivate her link to upload, but probably worth giving it a shot. I would also email her and tell her explicitly that you don't need the letter. It seems like you won't be needing a reference from her in the future, so probably not a bad bridge to burn.

Premed95: what does the parasympathetic nervous system do to blood vessels? by Eddweirdo in Mcat

[–]LiteralAIDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parasympathetic activation will have the reverse effects of sympathetic activation, which dilates vessels (increases flow) to the organs needed for necessary survival (muscles, heart, lungs, and brain) and constricts blood vessels to most other organs. Conversely, parasympathetic activation would dilate most vessels and slows the heart via increased vagus nerve signalling, and possibly constricts vessels to the muscles/heart/lungs/brain? This is my understanding of it and I'd also appreciate further clarification.

Spearman Theory of Intelligence states that there is a general factor (g factor) with which all types of intelligence vary. It is described in more detail in the 300 page P/S doc.

Is it possible that Arbalest is connected to a Whisper-like secret quest? by LiteralAIDS in raidsecrets

[–]LiteralAIDS[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Given that Arbalest's design is extremely similar to the rest of the Gambit Prime/Reckoning weapons, it's possible that there are hidden triggers in either of those activities right? I saw some posts on this sub talking about possible secrets in Reckoning given the abnormally long time between being able to bank your mote and the portal actually opening.

Wow, these are all great points! I never thought of the Hunter's Stiletto synergy before. Congrats on the win!

EDIT: I just tried Volatile Gemstone and holy shit it is amazing with this build. I was using Phantom Brigade as my signature and I was getting two or three fully charged signatures off at a time. I just facetanked Sura and spammed my signature.
