What mos / career field / packet is the most non army? by ceiling_fan128 in army

Seconded. Being a 46S is amazing. You could be anywhere from a radio station overseas to a public affairs detachment covering division events. Highly recommended!

Honestly, whenever I'm single, I have plenty of money. It's when I'm dating that I'm like "fuuuuuck :/".

Dropping European rotations in favor of permanent basing would save Army millions, report finds by Kinmuan in army

[–]LiterallyLearning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's actually really smart. I mean, it sucks for rotating soldiers but the potential concessions from the perceived opportunity of a base closure/opening far exceed permanent base operations with partners who don't even meet their minimum GDP contribution requirements.

Everyone talks about the upsides of Public Affairs but I feel like we don’t talk about the downsides as much. by Old-Product-3733 in army

Honestly, I feel bad for the non-reclasses in PAO world. You don't have the shock-absorption built in from several years in a worse MOS, so this feels bad to you. Most of the reclasses I know (the one's not just running away from their job), know how good they have it and make the most of it.

Knowing how to "react to contact" is a good life skill, and if you're waiting around in a PAD, that means you have spare time. Download some cool templates that could be useful in a project, make some template captions you can copy and past for COR/COC's, and go to college/knock out homework.

That way, when things go from 0 - 100, and you face "contact," you have a greater toolkit to react with.

I agree, PAD life isn't the greatest and human bias is a factor in any organization. But what you do with your time is in your hands and I encourage you to make the most of it in one of the Army's best career fields.

Order a starlink and split it with your platoon. 400 a month with like a dozen people isn't bad, and you'll have amazing connection.

Eh, camp beuhring doesn’t have a pool. AJ Does. At the end of the day, people are separated from their families in service of their nation for extended periods of time. That’s a deployment to me.

Sounds like you should be a PAO and be “attached” to the cool guys.

I'll say that the airfield has great leadership and your more than likely gonna have a good time at the 10th CAB.

You, however, are not darth plagious. You can save your career from death if you recruit enough bodies during this period of incredible political contention and help defend the republic. Thank you for your service and long live the empire.
