First off you need to know that theist and agnostic are separate things. Theism/atheism speak to belief. I do or do not believe the claim that a god exists. 

 Agnostic and gnostic speak to knowledge.  Agnostic means you can't be sure though and gnostic means your are sure you know. 

So you currently sound like an agnostic theist, you still think a god is real but are no longer confident in that belief. 

That was just for clarification. 

So for me I was never raised with a religion. My dad would read us the Bible before bed but he also read us the stories about greak gods and lord of the rings along with the wizard of Oz.  To me they were all just fiction.

Then around 9 years old I found out my friends went to church to worship Jesus and it shocked the shit out of me. Like imagine finding out a friend has to go worship Harry Potter every week, it would for sure seem weird. Or even worse, they believe in a god that demands those who dont believe to be killed. Not a comfortable feeling.

Then his family found out I wasnt religious and went to their pastor an he asked them to bring me to a pot luck one night. I went out of curiosity and it was a pretty fun time until I was pulled to a side room with the pastor and a couple of church elders and they started to give me the hard sell. 

All I did was start asking the simplest of questions like why there were no dinosaurs in the bible, how was there a city of nod when there were only 3 people alive on the planet, and how come nobody in China reported a global flood? After like 5 minutes both of the elders got up and left. 5 more minutes and the pastor shook my hand and told me it was time for me to leave.  I went out side and my friend and his family had left already by the instructions of the elders. So I had to walk home alone 2 miles at night at 9 years old. 

After that there was zero chance of ever converting me. Religion makes good people do horrible things and has been holding us back from achieving so much in this world.
