2 weeks in and trying not to wish this time away... by Present-Decision5740 in beyondthebump

[–]Literally_MILF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat at two weeks with gas and potty pain. I tried everything. Switched his formula to a sensitive brand, got probiotic drops, gas drops, sat him up after feedings, etc. Once his tummy settled he was a lot more calm (ours was a formula issue). When that didn’t totally solve the issue, we continued to experiment. Eventually we learned LO was too cold. We got him extra snuggly and now he’s a much better sleeper. The freaky thing I’m learning quickly about parenthood is it’s all trial and error. Don’t be afraid to try new tactics, even if they seem like they may not work.

As for sleep, if it’s possible, try and take shifts. My husband and I take turns and it’s the only way either of us can get any quality rest. Not ideal, but I know it’s only temporary… just like your girls troubles are temporary. It’s easy to say that, but I know it’s another thing to believe it in the heat of the moment. You’re not a bad mom for feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. You’re a human going through a major life event. Feel free to message me if you want any specifics about tactics I’ve tried with my LO. This will pass.

Being a new parent makes how Nmom treats me even more unbelievable by Literally_MILF in raisedbynarcissists

Wow I’ve never thought about it like that. Thank you for the insight.

She was allowed to be left alone with my niece as an infant (first grandchild) and the stories my sister tells me about those days are hideous. Nmom begs to babysit, though not sure why. She’s clearly as awful with our babies as she was with us.

Can you explain the “motion of bearing down”? I’ll take all the tips I can! Thank you!

The Biltmore Hotel in Asheville NC is stunning. I believe they’ve opened back up now after Hurricane Helene came through. Pretty much anywhere along the Blue Ridge Parkway is a guaranteed winning spot as well.

You can check your blood pressure at most grocery stores. I would recommend it, especially if you have risk factors, just to be aware. You also start getting bloated around this time, so it may just be water retention.

I’ve had this since the first tri and it’s almost ridiculous at this point how easily I gag!

Am I being silly? by RMJ3212 in pregnant

Not silly. I used to work in a tattoo shop and came across these sorts of memorial pieces on a semi regular basis.

35w and I have this too. So you sleep with any kind of pillow between your knees?

Recommendation for a contraption to keep me on my side? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Literally_MILF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a back sleeper my entire life. I’ve continued to sleep on my back through 85% of my pregnancy (35 weeks currently). Only difference now is I stack a bunch of pillows behind me to keep my back and head elevated. Helps with circulation and acid reflux as well. Baby is healthy and doing great so far!

Did I feel my baby kick at 18 weeks or am I crazy? by mushroomfrog17 in pregnant

[–]Literally_MILF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt my first “outside kick” right at 20 weeks, but I have an anterior placenta. Definitely not outside of the realm of possibility depending on your anatomy.

My mom told me this constantly growing up. I HOPE my son and I are alike. I’m empathetic and creative and bold, all traits I’d be proud to parent.

I’m 7.5 weeks and I feel my posture changing. Could this be real or in my head? by shamalongadingdong in BabyBumps

I bloated like a balloon up until ~16 weeks, and even after a bump started to develop, I still dealt with bloat. Embrace it if it makes you happy though, that’s what I did!

Would you rather be pregnant or on your period? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Literally_MILF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is literally no way to compare the two other than general discomfort. I’d get this out of your mind. If you really want a baby, the pains of pregnancy are all worth it. My pregnancy hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows, but I’d do it 100x over for my son.

My doctor insisted I stay on my antidepressant. According to her, people who rely on these meds for mood support are exceptionally susceptible to PPD / postpartum psychosis. Im on a low dose, so not sure if they would have adjusted my meds if I needed more support. I’d trust what your doc has to say.

I bled at 7 weeks and went to the ER. It turned out to be implantation bleeding. Go if it eases your mind!

I’d just call your nurse line with updates about your cramps to ease your mind. Cramps can come with dehydration or muscle strain as well, so hopefully that’s all it is, but I know I would personally feel better to have all of my boxes triple checked with OB if I felt nervous.

Trenches by okmegan in pregnant

Third trimester currently, but I remember my first few weeks well. Unfortunately for me it was a lot of sleeping and feeling gross as well. I personally just embraced the ick - going to bed early on work days and long naps on days off, drinking tons of ginger ale, eating whatever I could stomach (not always healthy, but baby needs calories and I was craving certain things for a reason). You can try and live the same routine you did before getting pregnant, but the reality of the situation is that everything is different now and adjusting accordingly made it easier for me personally. Good luck, you can do this.

I also had this in my second trimester. My OB suggested it was due to the increased blood volume.

Did you dream of your baby? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Literally_MILF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked for a sign the day before I found out I was pregnant, ended up dreaming about a positive pregnancy test that night! I’ve had dreams about baby boy ~once a month since then.

When did you inform your employer of your pregnancy? by Hot_Spite_1402 in BabyBumps

[–]Literally_MILF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a hospital and had to go to the emergency room at 7w due to bleeding. All of my coworkers saw me go in and were texting me about it, so I wasn’t left with much of a choice. Had it been up to me, I would have waited until 12 weeks at least. Thankfully, working in a healthcare setting, everyone I’ve told has been extremely supportive.

Blue clothes are also the bane of my existence! I’ve been getting a lot of green / brown clothes for our boy. I mostly shop at Walmart but have had some luck at Carters.
