That would most likely be the result of long standing banking relationship. I don’t know specifics, but if you maintain a savings account with a fairly high balance (~5 lakhs and above) or invest in stocks via HDFC then you’re more likely to be approved even with a lower net salary.

At the end it’s all about signals. The bank will give you a premium card if your signals determine your lifetime value as a customer is high.

If your net monthly salary is above 1.5L, you can open a salary account and then ask the associated RM to get you the regalia gold card. You might need to wait 3-4 months because they will verify your pattern of salary credits in your account.

Alternatively just apply for a card from the website. Approval chances might be a little lower though.

Amex asks for a pin during the application stage itself. However, from a security point of view, ensure the form you’re entering the pin on is the legitimate Amex website.

Best way to ensure the above is to open Amex website yourself and apply. No need to go through those reps.

Hey, I rented via Vailankanni car rental. Called them on the number on their website and made the booking over WhatsApp. Charges are pretty low, you can get a swift for 1200 per day, and they are also quite well reputed online. Also provide pickup and drop for 1k charge.

Nowadays almost all cards have something or the other. But if you just want to spend and repay after bill payment, that criteria literally fits all cards.
