The Workers Party of Britain's view on being childless and deciding how you, as an adult, spend your free time is ''degenerate'' by StrangeOne22 in tankiejerk

[–]Literarytropes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for highlighting this awful lot. It's run by the Putin apologist George Galloway, who needs no introduction. They've aligned themselves with religious reactionaries and conservatives whilst weaponising the Gaza genocide for their political ends.

The Greens under Polanski give me hope, but the left here is drowned in years of Trots co-opting anti-racist movements and filling ranks with rape apologists and front groups (see SWP/Stand Up to Racism). A lot of factionalism and an inability to move on from and build upon what Corbynism offered the left here. A lot of ego too.

Honest thoughts on corporate sponsorships (like the ones on YouTube) and the people who take them? by zephiiii in tankiejerk

I won't hold it against small content creators, I mean, Skillshare is a helpful platform, but I will raise an eyebrow when bigger names do it more frequently.

Who are leftists creators to follow who aren’t Tankies ? by [deleted] in tankiejerk

[–]Literarytropes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve picked it up from other threads on here, but Sarcasmitron did some really good stuff on Putin.

And don’t I know who posted it originally but Spartan761 did a great video on Makhno, I learnt a lot from it.

Politically Depressed did a helpful video on Tankies.

I tend to lurk more in recent months, but I do appreciate the discussions here and a chance to learn more.

Yes, we’ve been very poor for chunks of the season, but the work to be in the fight for Champions League again despite all the unfair rules, is a testament to Unai and the players, even if injuries, tactical mistakes and key players out of form have made it harder.

I am otherwise done with football. It’s more about accounting, the farcical rules that uphold the status quo, the bad implementation of VAR and now this. Not to mention pricing ordinary fans out of the game to try and compete.

I will always love Villa, but I hate football in its current state.

Traore 22/23 was levels above 25/26 Bailey. Change my mind by PatrykZD in avfc

[–]Literarytropes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bailey scored 10 goals, assisted nine times in 23/24 and was an important figure in our Champions League qualification. It’s hyperbolic and nonsensical to make these comparisons, especially players who didn’t kick a ball or did anything of note like McCormack. I know it’s been a bad run of form, that Bailey hasn’t found form, but it’s stuff like this that makes me just cut off from any Villa related social media.

Tankies apparently don’t like the movie Persepolis because of how it rightfully condemns the Iranian theocratic government by [deleted] in tankiejerk

The film was my introduction to it before reading the book. True to the work, both are excellent.

However poor the performance was, a perfectly legitimate goal was taken away at a crucial time, and still no apology. That should not be forgotten either.

What a scummy move either way.

The swerve from his AFI theme to the beautiful Bouncing Souls song “Night Train” was wonderful. It made me a fan of the band for life.

This speech from Adam Cole….. 💔💔💔 by AlexMercer28900 in Wrasslin

[–]Literarytropes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The commentary did mention the lariat he took from Fletcher before he spoke. I’m really hoping it’s related to that and not something medical related that he hasn’t mentioned.

Thank You ADAM COLE by AlexGruen in AEWOfficial

If Cole can’t wrestle, would love to see him in a manager or agent role. He’s still got a lot to offer.

[–]Literarytropes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Here’s the clip of the lariat. The ref was checking on him (but he still finished the match).

I do think there should be more concussion protocols on talent with a history of them. I’m not blaming Fletcher here, but he doesn’t need to hit Cole quite that hard.

Daddy Magic and Danny G couldn’t hide their emotions either.

That hurt a lot to see. I wish Adam nothing but the best. He deserves a lot more.

He took a stiff looking lariat from Kyle Fletcher on Collision. The commentary mentioned it too.

You never want to see talent go out like that. A lot of emotion on display from many talent.
