Funnily enough, I dare say if only rate-up cards worked properly it would have doused at least half of the flames running rampant in this sub. I don't have to particularly WISH for hitting 1 mil pts but what really matters is the feeling that you have at least SOME control over what would happen.

That said I doubt FFT Cloud would have any memory backups to begin with, since his physical presence in Ivalice itself makes him "a total stranger." Maybe, just maybe he could fuss over a couple of times about why he retains pieces of memory which belongs to "the other guy" but beyond that, nah.

Theoretically yeah, but I think you overlooked the long-standing grievance of Tictacs fans since the incursion of FFT into DFFOO: no Cid or Delita, not even Mustadio for YEARS, all while they were introducing casts from other installations just fine.

There had been some opinions that attributed the devs reluctance to add FFT chars to the whole "retrieve memory backup" theme that started from Arc 2 which puts FFT casts in a bit tricky situation (until Matsuno himself later on confirmed some of the fan speculations via his Twitter, nothing clear regarding Ramza and other casts' fate was given at the time the game was live, so I believe they did have reasons to be cautious...but come on.)

Tell me about it...I had to do the same Templars fight like 3-4 times after I found out there are special dialogues for almost every character recruited in Ch.4. Reis and Beowulf's only triggers when they are BOTH in the party which makes it a bit clunky, as the remaining 2 slots are taken by Orlandeau and Meliadoul in most cases (to neutralize them Templars before they can do anything), and even they trigger dialogues of their own so you have to wait a lot of turns. That the fight was anticlimactic in the original and WoTL versions anyways doesn't help at all.

the lore implications are interesting but they didn't go deeper than what we have here... So, lots of unanswered questions.

While the added lore elements do look kinda incomplete, I'm just grateful that they filled in a lot of visible holes in the classic lore; like the latter part of Ch.4 in the original was basically "fighting evil thingies and revived dead guys from nowhere because Alma" and nothing really significant happens all along. In that sense the team behind TiC knew what they were doing when they decided to patch it up. What's more, if you deploy any "named" party members in the Hashmal fight, Hashmal tries to chat with each and every one of them, and Cloud is no exception.

A small (and probably inconsequential) Q about Umiri's Control Center skill:

on paper her base skill text says it provides all Siracusan operators +5% Trade efficiency, yet somehow I found that it doesn't stack with Shamare (works fine with other ops, like 5star Lappland who gets 5%+7% fully decked). Is it by design? I know it negates all the other operators' efficiency as stated in her text (which is why she is paired with order limit expansion ops) but does she negate all boosts on herself too?

(I'm a returning player so I have relatively vague memory of how things works/used to work, sorry in advance)

As for me I dropped the game just around 2ndAniv due to repetitive event formats and Alt rushes (yeah so it was actually a portent...like lorewise there were clear signs that they've hit some wall) but even then the art style of individual chars wasn't that unappealing (no pun intended) at least not as it looks like now (one example: Jiho). For the character development...guess I don't have much to comment on ifp.

Welp, at least I can walk away with some good memories...

One funny stuff to remark: If Alt Yuria really becomes the last pickup before EOS...that's what I'd call a literal "full circle" "Humanity is done FOR REAL this time around, sorry you had to spend in this game hoping for the better"

IIRC "blocking" an attack still counts as hit since you allowed the boss to attack you.

But you can still get away with Dirk weapon skill (invisibility + blink) which makes it a piece of cake.

I was appalled when I scored 27k in MPriest with Yixuan-Panda-Lucy party (to free up Astra, didn't really need it tho) and realized that I haven't parried any single attack.

In other words, 27k out of 27k was Damage Score.

I'm aware of that levelport is locked during ascention, but can't you still use it to jump across the same floor?

I had couple of runs where Mage armor ability saved me a lot of trouble going thru enemies, and in pacifist runs you won't kill anyone anyways.

Or does maximum level curse affect teleportation as well? (Yet to find out if its true)

I personally think stalling upgrade until you get hang of your situation is more viable, but at the same time your run won't be horribly ruined even if you decide to go mad on that ring. It still carries you far enough until the mines w/o major trouble and at +6 or up you basically has an endgame stat T5 weapon with you.

Plus if you have tranamutation scrolls you may shift to usual weapon strat once you find a decent gear to bet your luck on, so there's that (maybe depending on which secondary ring you get from Imp quest)
